photoshop help??

for the life of me i cant figure out how to use photoshop. anyway, i''m looking to possibly have a custom e-ring made and since some of you ladies are just awesome at the photoshopping i figured I''d ask you for some help. I''m looking to get a micropave halo ring with a surprise diamond underneath but i also want the ring to look like 3 bands but all attached. i would like the 2 outer bands to be light pink sapphires or diamonds, and the middle a micropave. kind of like this simon g but reversed, and i''d like the head to sit higher with the little surprise diamonds underneath. thanks so much in advance! i hope i was clear.

I can''t seem to incorporate a surprise stone into a setting tt consists of 3 bands. I''ve however done it with a single micropave band, and if you like it, you can wear a thin rose gold pave band on either sides. It''ll probably give you the same look, but the pink surprise diamond will be covered by the rose gold bands. Maybe you can tell me more abt ur idea so I can try to make it look more like what you want?

What if that side view with the pink surprise was actually only one side...the other side would be the same design but totally seperate. Then the center band would float as in the first image.

So another words there would be two..cathedral winged rings...and one regular band without the wings. The head would rest on the tips on four wing ends. Like a table...OOOH POO I want to look once again at the photo and you can''t as you are posting a reply. Drats! Is that what they had done already?

OK... Here's what i understand. the outside bands should be rose gold, the inside one white, and the halo is white too rit? How's this? You insert a white pave band between the 2 rose gold ones. I'm not very sure whether the floating surprise stones will work structurally, I just thought I'll try that look.

Here it is with a white pave band. Of cos you can also get it made such that the white band is not removable.

I just realised that the white and rose gold parts don't look very "together". This probably looks a little better. Excuse me for being so anal!

gladyskristen, thank you so much for your help! i love how you interpreted my idea, and i envy your photoshop skills. i think you are right, if i have the triple band it might compromise the surprise diamond im so stuck on having, maybe it would work with the center band as a knife edge? i dont know!!

i think i dont totally love the rose gold and would maybe just have all white gold but still with light pink sapphires or diamonds on the outside. so it would be white gold with diamonds in the center with micropave, with the higher setting and perhaps the pink surprise diamond. and then sitting flush with the diamond band 2 white gold pink sapphire or diamond pave.

btw, how did your x prong come out? did you receive it yet?

Incmisirlou, actually the 2nd style tt I photoshopped CAN accommodate what you want. If you look more closely, there are actually 2 cathedral-type bands on the outside, each with it's own surprise pink diamonds, with a normal pave band going between them. I've labelled them to help you see how it works. I've also modified it to be all white gold, with pink stones on the outside and white on the inside.

I swear, everytime I see one of the rings you ladies have/design I think "that is the..well, one of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen" but geez, where do you get all the money for this! its incredible though, I love that slight pink on white contrast. Not too overdone, but just enough to add that extra flare of life. And those two surprise diamonds would be unbelievable. fantastic ring, but def. do the white gold version.

ahhhh thank you sooo much GK! this is just perfect i looooove it! the pale pink pave and the surprise pink diamond is exactly what i had pictured in my head. i cant wait to see the pics of your e-ring, i just love the xfactor, so unique.

i agree workinghard.. i definitely love the WG instead of the RG. my bf has been trying to save and save so hopefully soon we will be able to afford this. one of the reasons i love the halo is it tends to make a rb look larger. im probably going to try and save some $ and stay in the 1ct-1.1ct range with a better cut rather than a larger stone. i havent checked your other thread..did you go with blue nile and pick a stone?

Well he sure does sound like an incredible guy! While I would love to have that one on my ff, I am glad for the moment she has somewhat simple taste

As to my own, while blue nile is great, I have decided to go with James Allen, who has been exceptional thus far. I am a difficult customer though, and I just emailed a list of about 8 questions/request so we will see how they handle that!

I hope you get that ring soon though! It is incredible!

and, I spend too much time on pricescope now...about every 20 or 30 minutes im checking it and browsing stuff...and now I am wondering how things went for hikerchick with her little WF misstep, I'll have to check that one in a bit If I don't go to sleep

i started out with somewhat simple taste, all i wanted was the simon g. but that was before PS about a year ago. does your FF read pricescope? if she doesn''t you might want to keep her away or you might be fighting over the computer to see who can login first

im glad you found a vendor that you are comfortable with. i havent bought anything from James Allen but I have emailed them questions before and they were helpful. I hope i get that ring sometime soon too! thanks for all the compliments on it! I also login into PS an unhealthy amount of times a day, and as of right now im loving pink asscher spinel that chrono has. I''ll keep my eyes peeled for your threads, im always a fan of a bump as well.


i pass by GOG just about everyday, once in a while its hard to not turn around on my way to work and spend the day in there instead. and i love the design, thanks again!
