bridget, if that isn't actually snow on the ground in your new mexico pic, then you must have been near 'white sands'.
somewhat closer to alamogordo and the white sands missile range, there are miles and miles of huge pristinely white sand dunes. you must have been on the outskirts of this area.

Thank you. I love black and white photography. I don''t have as much of my photos on this computer but I have a ton of them on the home computer. I''ll try and post those tonight.

Those look like my roses, Matata. That pink one I have posted above look like those when they open up. Do yours smell really strong? I love mine because they smell like the old roses do.

I love everyone''s pictures that they''ve posted.

Yep, they smell reallly niiice. I planted 5 heirloom roses 2 years ago all of which have a different aroma ranging from citrusy to cinnamon. Here''s a pic of them in their first year of bloom. The only thing I regret is that all the plants have the biggest nastiest thorns I''ve ever seen -- makes pruning an adventure.

i LOVE all of the pictures posted. GARDEN PATH belongs in a gallery!

may i ask each of you what camera you took to take your shots? i have irises that are simply to die for and would love to capture them up close and personal. but i also like scenic photos. please don''t tell me i need two cameras!

please keep posting. i love seeing the world, even if it is through someone else''s photos. the great wall of china shot made me feel like i was there. and the roses, oh the roses: i could smell them!!!

Movie Zombie:

Thank you

I took mine with a Sony Digital Cyber Shot DSC-P5, 3.2 Mega Pixels, 6x precision digital zoom. It''s about 4 years old, I think. I absolutely love it!

Matata:

I know what you mean about the thorns! Those things are the worst! I have one really old rose bush that has yet to bloom since I''ve had it. Its over 100 years old and belonged to my great grandmother. Its called a Seven Sisters and has these little pink button roses all over it. IF it blooms this year, which I''m really hoping, I''ll take some pictures of it. I have another one that belonged to her and is also over 100 years old and it does bloom every year. Its a single bloomer that blooms on or around Mother''s Day. After that its just a green shrub. But I''ll take some photos of that as well.

ok, now you people have gone and done it....i''m in the market for a camera! it was bad enough i couldn''t get a picture of my new 8.18 spess [yet to be set] but not to be able to get close pictures of my irises [one of which the stock goes back to the 1500''s] is just tooooooooo much. did i mention i live in a forest?! did i mention that 6 wild turkeys came through here about 3 months ago? no, i didn''t....no sense mentioning these things ''cause people then want to see pictures.

thanks for the tips on the cameras. i''ll be checking them out. hubby tried to convince me that i should wait for the next generation of cell phones which will have a vastly improved camera from what we have now on our cell phones. but you people have convinced me otherwise! anyone else re camera recommendations?

my shopping list just seems to get longer and longer and longer!!!!

peace, movie zombie

ps more photos please!
