Both look good, what are the grading reports, polish, symmetry, girdle and diameters please? From the info we have I would pick the second one, but would like the rest of the info above to say for sure. Do you have ASET or Idealscope images also?

Don't remember exactly, I wrote down the report number as 16756 but it didn't work when I tried..? Wrote it wrong maybe?

Nope no ASET images or anything special like that. I was lucky to even get to look at the H&A scope. I don't know any Canadian b&m vendor that use ASET unfortunately!

Ditto, without an IS.

The only thing that bugs me about the second one is the 5.96x5.98 diameter.

Is that a little smaller for the carat weight or is that just all in my head?

5.96x5.98x?

So the cut is AGS1? and the polish/sym is Ex instead of the highest AGS grade of ideal?

Just to make sure, but I would also choose the AGS stone from the information available.

The diameter is fine, a well cut .80 should face up in the region of 6 mm. I would still probably prefer the second one due to the price, colour and clarity but if you have seen both then do you have a favourite? Numbers are one thing but they can't tell you about the personality of a diamond, did one ' speak' to you more than the other?

They are both promising, an ID scope image would help to pick beyond here. Honestly though, i''d save a bundle or go larger by dropping in color clarity to the G/H VS2/SI1 range. Assuming the stone is eye clean (many SI2''s are even eye clean) you won''t be able to tell the difference. Why pay for what you can''t see?

I guess neither of the stones really "spoke" to me...that''s probably the issue here then.

I would go down a color and clarity but it comes down to availability. It was hard to even find one that was VS2 in an H&A cut. These vendors all have VVS clarities and DEF colors! I''d go G but not H. The ring in my avatar is an SI2 with a crystal inside, it''s 0.38cts but I think its visible from the side in the sun...I''m worried an SI1 or SI2 stone would bug me even more if it''s in the 0.80ct range.

Will continue the search and let you all know when I find "the one"!

Keep us posted!
