Here we go yo!
I love the slide through chain...

And I''ll get you into a "bead chain yet"! My fav!

I e-mailed Lesley at WF to ask about the three prong and DBTY pendants. After I hear back from her I''ll make a final decision. Either way, I need to have something by 1/14.

Oh MC...I do love that look...When I was in vegas, I drooled all over them at Tiffany...
although I decided against it...scritchity scratch!
MMM, cats and diamonds lovers suppose to be scratch-resistant.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You reminded me that I need to trim some kitty nails tonight!

Although it *is* pretty hard to scratch me

The reason I like the 3 prong is that you see more of the diamond and the culet can''t scratch you because of the basket. I had one from Tiff''s bezel set and returned it cause it scratched my neck. I may be more sensitive to this than others are, who knows. Just my 0.2

Has anyone had a three prong or DBTY solitare pendant done by WF? How long should it take them to make it usiing one of their in-house diamonds?

Hello EP.

The three prong can take as little as 48 hours. DBTY would typically be our normal quote of 10–14 business days.

I''m 98% sure I''m gonna go with the three prong pendant. The DBTY pendant costs more (meaning I''d have less money to spend on the diamond) and would likely take too long to make causing me to miss my deadline.

I''ve e-mailed WF a list of four ES diamonds in my $600 to $700 price range to look at and give their opinions on.

I think you and she will love it.
I have to say all these pendent pictures have put ideas in my head and I mentioned it to my hubby that I would like one for *my* 30th b-day. (couple years away yet.) You have started a trend. Please be sure to post some pics when you get it! I think a round diamond pendent is the kind of classic that she can wear with almost anything, any day. You are a very thoughtful husband indeed!

Congrats EP ! I''m sure it will be fabulous!
Hey...I''ve got a great idea! I''m going to pick my pendant up tomorrow too...So she and I can share the bezel and the three prong !

Great choice EP!!! Can''t wait for the pics. She will love it!!

I''m in the process of trying to pick a diamond. There are a lot of WF ES diamonds in the .33 to .39 range that fit my budget. The mm size difference between the .33 and .39 diamonds are about .20mm to .25mm. How noticable will that be in a pendant and is it worth the extra $100 to $150?

One last question about the three prong pendant.....since it doesn''t slide on the chain does the chain and pendant rotate around your neck and not stay centered?

I think in that size, .25mm will be noticable. My wife claims to see 0.1mm in a 5.6mm stone at a glance

.

If you can afford the $150, I''d go for it.

P.S. Post pics!

My wife''s 30th B-day is almost here and I still haven''t decided what to do. WF may not be able to get the three prong in time. Should I wait for it and give it to her a day or two late or go with something else?

have you talked to them about a timeframe? they ship pretty quick.

Yes. They're getting the pendants from their supplier on Friday the 13th and the wife's B-day is on Saturday the 14th. They can get it to FedEx on the 13th for shipment but unless they can do a Saturday delivery the earliest I'd get it is on Monday. I've asked about a Saturday delivery but haven't heard back yet.

I'm also checking around to see what else is available from other vendors.

I think you should definitely find out if you can get Saturday delivery. I think UPS does this, for a lot extra charge, but I'm not sure what Fedex does. If you can't get it delivered in time for her birthday, I would go with the Ready Set Go earrings. I got a pair for Christmas, and they really are beautiful.

Only you know if your wife will be upset if her gift is a couple of days late. If you want to wait for the pendant, and don't think she'll mind, I would get her another small gift to give her on her birthday and let her know the big one is coming in a couple of days.

ETA: I just looked on Fedex's website for you, and it looks like they do have Saturday delivery. Here's what it says on their website:

Saturday delivery is available in the majority of U.S. cities with FedEx Priority Overnight® and FedEx 2Day® services.

I would see if Whiteflash can send your pendant Fedex Priority Overnight with Saturday delivery. They should be able to do this.

FedEx can do a Saturday delivery. Now I just need to make a final decision on the diamond.

I don''t know what your budget is for the diamond or how low in color and clarity you want to go, but this ACA looks good to me:

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-1958301.htm

I noticed for the size range you want, the price difference between Expert Selections and ACA isn''t that much. In fact, in some cases there seems to be no price difference. So, I wouldn''t rule out an ACA.

I''m starting to think about getting a larger diamond. Any thoughts on this one: .55 I SI1

Keep in mind that I don'' t know rounds all that well, but personally I''d go for the J that was pictured right next to the one you picked.

http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-798835.htm#

It''s about $150 cheaper plus the size difference isn''t that much. The I you picked is a bit more out of round than the J. I''m not sure how much difference that will make in the appearance of the stone though. I''m sure the experts here on rounds will be able to give you better advice.

Ep,

I was just wondering, did you get the pendant in time for your wife''s birthday? I''m waiting on the same setting for my pendant, and I haven''t heard yet from Whiteflash if it''s in yet or not.

I ended up getting the four prong pendant. They told me the three prong would be in on 1/13 at the earliest and maybe not even then. I didn''t want to take the risk and not have it in time.

It was a good thing that you went with the four prong because they still haven''t received the three prong settings. She anticipates shipping mine Thursday or Friday. I like both settings, but I think I like the three prong slightly better, so I''ll wait a little longer. If it ends up being further delayed, I may get the four prong setting also. How does your wife like her necklace? Which diamond did you end up getting for it? Does the diamond tend to flip on the necklace, or does it stay face up?

I ended up getting the .39 G SI2 that I was looking at. I decided against spending the extra $600 to get the larger diamond. It flips a little but she says she doesn''t notice it. She really likes it.

Looks like a wonderful piece of jewelry - so glad that both of you are happy with your choice!
