A lot of the antique stores were closed- I think they are by appointment only - but I was able to find one and the owner spoke English too - his grandfather was English. He told me that most of the old pieces were acquired by wealthy Catalan families from France. What I loved - a 1.53 euro cut that was perfect, vs1 clarity and amazing color. The setting was gorgeous and original platinum. As the store in Madrid, this one was also selling only in Spain. He told me it's not worth the hassle of the documentation and export fees to even sell into the other EU countries, forget about US. It was 7.6k euro, so around 8.4k usd. Is this a good price?
