Hi everyone. The information here has been great but it seems the more research I go, the more overwhelmed I get. A bit like trying to drink water out of a fire hydrant. In any case, I'm looking at the following 4 stones and was hoping to get any feedback from those more knowledgeable than myself.

She wants a ~2ct round brilliant that shines brightly in all lights. So after researching, I think that getting the best cut possible would be the first thing I'd look at. After that, F/G color and eyeclean VS2 or SI1. I had hoped to stay around the 25K mark.

Thanks again.

Both the James Allen & Whiteflash diamonds should be good choices. Both score well on the HCA (1.4 vs. 1.6). The diamond in the James Allen video looks beautiful and it's also E color vs. G color from Whiteflash. It also looks like you would save a couple thousand (to be used on a setting!) by going with the James Allen diamond.

The Whiteflash diamond says it is already 'reserved'. Did you call them to set it aside for you? If not, you might be down 1 choice.

I clicked on the links for the bluenile and it did not bring me to the diamonds.

Ahh, see the blue nile diamonds now.

The GIA 5151913877 diamond has both a large feather and crystals. If I were you, I would want to make sure that the feather is not visible and that the crystals are not black (looks like pepper). That would bother me (personally).

The GIA 2155877190 also has 2 small feathers on the side. I would confirm that those are eye clean. I only raise the feather 'issue' because I had ordered 2 diamonds with feathers on the side. The one I kept had the feather hidden by a prong so I can't see it at all. Not sure how 'eye clean' conscious you are.

Personally, I still think the James Allen diamond looks to be the best choice-color wise and price-wise. Good luck in your search.

Thank you. My concern with the James Allen is that there are no additional idealscope or aset images to look at. However, I suppose if the HCA score and the diamond 3D looks good it may not matter.

I have never used James Allen but I believe you can request up to 3 Aset scans (at no charge). Why don't you reach out to them if you really are interested in that diamond?

This is my new favourite quote

And yes, give JA your top 3, and they will do an ASET and give you their opinion on them. You can them post the ASET here, and WE can give you our opinion :)

I do like the WF one, but it certainly is pricier. It does face up larger, though maybe not noticeablly so.

The Whiteflash stone is going to be the best cut, and it gets my vote. I have never for a second regretted going for the best cut. However, I will be glad to look at the ASET image on the JA stone even though I have doubts about it just from seeing the magnified image.

I usually prefer to shy away from the .00 weights but that JA e color looks pretty good. Have ja do an IS and get a geologist review. Don't get to see many e color purchases, so this one intrigues me. Have them compare it to a true hearts g color to get a comparison of color vs. Cut.

Unfortunately, the JA stone isn't in New York therefore they can't provide images until it is bought. I agree that cut is incredibly impt and thought the whiteflash one is great, I think I'm going to have to take it off the list as its a bit too pricey.

I agree. They say its a "beautiful diamond" but dont' really offer more help. Think I may have to re-evaluate :)
