Hi everyone!
Just joined and this is my first post.
Just wanted opinions on what you would get in this situation. I know the decision is ultimately mine, but I keep going back and forth on what I want.
Here''s the situation: my grandparents recently died and my mom and aunt are selling their house. My mom wants to give me $1,000 from the house closing to buy something I want to be a reminder of my grandparents (I know $1,000 isn''t much but they had a very modest house). I want to spend the money on a diamond, most likely to put in a solitaire setting.
I actually already have two diamonds - a 0.38ct round that is my original e-ring. The diamond was my husband''s great-grandfather''s. I also have a 1.5ct round (that faces up like a 1.25ct because it is very deep) that was my MIL''s e-ring when she was married to my husband''s dad (she has since remarried). I don''t feel as though either diamond is really "mine", thus I want one of my own.
I love the sparkle of rounds however since I technically already have two I am leaning toward a fancy shape. My two favorite fancies are the pear and oval. But then I keep going back to the idea of having an ideal cut round.
I can''t seem to decide. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
