Hi everyone,
I am looking for an engagement ring but I am looking for a loose stone first. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if these three 3 stones are any good. Looking for diamond with great light performance and eye clean. I'm looking to do a Pave setting.

1. This first one is ~4k

2. ~8k

3. ~9k

I don't quite understand the difference in price between these 3. The first 2 seem to have a slight yellow tint but the color grading is E,F.

I've been told the first two are very well cut diamonds. Not sure about the 3rd. IF anyone would be able to tell me more info on these diamonds that would be great! I'm specifically looking at James Allen as I've read they have the most selection of fancy cut diamonds.

Wow, for a new comer you have picked 3 very nice stones. The price difference would be because of the high clarity on the D/E
plus the slighly better color.

The first stone has beautiful faceting pattern. The center facets span way out towards the North/South points of the stone. Minimal
"mush" under the table and the mirroring looks very nice...it is the smallest though.

The second one is also very nice...minimal mush and lots of nice mirroring throughout the center...not as much as the F though IMO.

The D is very good but not as nice as the other two. You can see the facets that head out from the center to the rounded ends are
not showing up and are not doing the mirroring thing. A little more of the typical mush we see with ovals.
This stone is the biggest though.

So, it really depends what your priorities are? D/E/F should all be very white and as long as you have a stone that is "eye clean"
you should be good.

I'll take a quick look to see if I can find any nice stones on JA that meet your specs.

Edit...so it really depends on your priorities...I didnt find any that I thought were "better" just more similar.
$4670 but larger than your smallest one...it is a VS2 and probably eye-clean but you can see inclusions in the blown up version (which
may not meet your tolerance?) Not really as "pretty" as your small stone but it is slightly bigger.

Bigger than your smaller stone, nice faceting pattern

Thank you so much for you input.

Would the 8k one look any larger than the 4k? I know its a small difference in length but is it noticeable?

Tyty what do you think about this one? https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/1.06-carat-d-color-vvs2-clarity-sku-451564 I know it's a 4 main but the facets just seem to dance on the screen and there seem to be a lot of well defined ones at all points.

I suspect this one would be quite bright through the center and looks like it has some nice flashes going on outside the table as well.
It does have a small amount of the typical mush under the table you see in ovals. I'm not a fan of 4 mains so I hardly even look at
them but doesnt mean they others might not find them attractive.

Here is a relative size difference between the two stones on a size 6 finger with a 2 mm shank ring.
There is a noticable size difference but dont know if its worth $3k (cant remember what the smaller
one cost and cant see the cost now that its on hold). I think the smaller one is a really good buy but if
you are looking to go bigger than thats your call...did you ask if you could get an aset image of either
of these stones? That could help you decide.

Actually I did ask about the ASET images and JA said they weren't available. I did however purchase the 4k one. I've received a lot of great feedback including from you guys. Thanks so much for the input everyone!

Hi Taiken84,

Keep in mind that you want the center stone and pave to compliment each other as far as color goes. Many vendors will default to Pave in the H/I color range (which is just fine) but may bother some people with color sensitivity when put into a setting with an F center stone.
