First poster here so please bare with me  . So I recently purchased a Diamond from a local diamond shop that was recommended to me. I utilized a lot of the awesome information here to find the best possible diamond and I eventually wound up with what was a really beautiful stone on paper and in person (it meets all the ideal oval cut requirements I found on this site for an oval). I took a gamble though as the stone was EGL knowing that they can exaggerate well everything. The diamond on paper seemed perfect (right around 2ct, H, SI1, Table and Depth were perfect). I saw it in person and it looked pretty amazing (at least in the jewelry store) was the right size (perfect size, sparkling, with no noticeable inclusions. I had it placed in a custom rose gold bezel set setting (similar to James Allen) picked it up and in the store it looked fantastic. Now I've brought it home now I'm getting second thoughts. In regular sunlight it's not really noticeable and looks pretty great I think but in warmer light just north and south of the center it gets a yellowish tint. I'm not quite sure if it's picking up the color from the lights, the rose gold setting, or both and I'm not quite sure if that is what is normal. I asked a few lady friends they thought it looked great but I was getting paranoid so I took it to another diamond shop and they said it's definitely closer to J maybe even K if it was GIA certified (which really got me worrying). The jeweler said that was fine though as the warmer stone kind of compliments the setting and that it was in fact a really beautiful stone/ring. Should I bring it back (and exchange for perhaps a smaller more colorless diamond (I doubt I can return at this point but I'm almost positive I can exchange) or just proceed as is (does this occur in most diamonds and perhaps I'm just being too picky). I've attached photos for comparison sake and I'm really looking for some advice on what steps to take next. Thanks in advance!

It looks very nice. EGL stones have been known to be off at times in color. Appears that yours might be slightly off if a GIA certified
gemologist said it was closer to K. Color is graded face down so I would think it would be very hard to grade now that it is mounted.

Normally I would tell you to return it if it is bothering you but not sure what your return policy is. It would be very difficult to
reuse your bezel setting on a smaller stone (they may be able to make a new bezel but it's probably going to cost you). Also,
it's been my experience that when you bezel fancy cut stones that dont always have the best cuts you tend to block out some of
the light that helps to brighten up the stone and make any color not so obvious.

I guess the first step would be to talk to your jeweler and find out what your return policy is.

I myself just purchased a J oval with a yellow gold setting (wanted rose gold, but didn't have the setting i wanted in that). Basically, when you've got a warm setting, a J color is perfectly decent. Assuming the true color is off a little and its a J or K, thats perfectly fine especially in a rose gold setting.

At the end of the day it only matters if you like it.
