My friend photoshopped a couple of ideas for me. I was wondering what you think....

#1

....

#2

what about shared prong diamonds in the band?

Maisie -- I love #2 with the sidestones and I love the Euroshank ...

I''m thinking that maybe those sidestones don''t exactly match the "look" of the halo ... Do you have any other sidestone ideas of things that you like?

yes! sheesh..... i have tried posting THREE times already and it wouldn't post. i totally meant bead set. that is what i said in my previous lost posts! i was blinded by frustration.

bead set diamonds in the band....not prong set!

I really like the idea of a thicker band which is why shared prong might not work. Also I suppose I am trying to limit the amount of pave or bead setting as I would worry about losing a stone. I do like the look of diamonds on the shank though.

My other option is to swap the diamonds on the shank for some delicate filigree work?

Love the halo!!! Bare with my clumsy description question...but you can use bead set without it being a prong (holding a diamond?)

What about adding some beading for detail to match the halo...? Maybe the same width of space used on the halo where the stones are...but just drizzled down the shank for extra yumminess. If you wanted to add stones, do it within the strip of space the beading leaves. (edge of shank...space...beading...space...beading...bead prong...diamond...(reverse the list.)

I love the wide Euro shank too, and I am surprised that the flow of the larger width of shank is throwing the ratio off so much...but I think that is where the previous comments of suggestions may be focused. I love it...but at that width there seems to be cohesive lack in the grand scheme of that lovely halo. Make sense?

I know what you mean about the shank throwing everything off. I love the shank, and I love the halo..... I really hoped they would work together

I personally like the idea. I love the first one. I think bead set on the second one instead as well. Have your friend photoshop engraving for a third and fourth choice for us nutty ones here. Don''t get discouraged. I like the width of the band to contrast the halo. We must be patient until all avenues have been pictured. (said in sage tone of voice) Someone once said I was wise for my age.

Oh, wait, that was my dad. He said "don''t be a wisea$$!" does that count?

Also, look at the style of this. It has bead set stones that are set into a channel on the ring. easy enough to do even in a wider band. bead set will keep the style of setting the diamonds the same. linky

P.S. glad it made you laugh.

I''m trying flattery now..... you never know - it might work

I vote #2 as well-but totally personal preference.

MrsS, that is a lovely ring!

Hmm, that didn''t work very well.....

I dunno.... I think #2 looks lovely, this leon mege ring is a similar style. Does that not work either?

It works! It works!

That would be fabulous ... Are you able to show us that one with the euroshank?

I wish I could but my friend has definitely gone to bed now.... I got a price from Leon for that setting and it was $4500

indeed. Do you have a reputable jeweler in your area? If so, have you considered going custom? It might be less? Not positive but it might be worth looking into ...

As an aside I''ve been meaning to tell you ... My mom''s name is Maisie as well. I''ve never known anyone else with that name.

I thought I saw in another thread that someone called you Maisie Bell, which I thought was so strange because that was my mom''s maiden name. I thought that if that was your name as well it would be a crazy coincidence!

I am hoping to have Whiteflash make my ring. Hopefully it will be a price my husband will like!!

My real name is Shelley. I adore the name Maisie which is why I picked it. My original PS name was Maisiebelle.... but I shortened it. The Bell part came from my nannas surname.

I''m certain that WF will be able to come up with something fabulous for you especially since you have put so much research and effort into it. I can''t wait to see the finished product!

I knew it was too much of a coincidence.

Thanks for sharing ... I like that story.

I am sure Whiteflash can help. Thats if they don''t run a mile from me! I have bought from them 3 times now, and each time I think I have driven poor Celina up the wall! She says she doesn''t mind though!!

I wish my name was Maisie - maybe I should change it!

I see this pic and I think of a Frenchman with a beret or is it the leaning tower of Pisa? teehee!

I couldn''t even do that well, so I probably shouldn''t giggle.

Me too, I love no. 2, !

Maisie, on the Leon ring you posted...I see some miligrain or beading what ever those little bumps are called on the shank. I think it ties the halo work into the shank. Even though he used different shaped stones...it some how works. Well, that is how it seems to me anyway. §
