I’m new to diamond shopping. I have selected a 5.5ct stone that looks eye clean but just got the GIA report and it shows “natural” and a decent sized green area outlined. Can anyone help me interpret this?
I read about indented natural. But it just says “natural” in the symbol section

We dont know the clarity???
But as natural is the last listed it is the least important - so not an issue.
What is unusual is the long open culet marked on the plot and seemingly visible in the photo.

Thank you. Garry. Here is the info I have and a picture. Cutlet was listed as very small. Is that abnormal?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

I personally think its a little dark under the table. I would be looking for one with a more even distribution of brilliance across the diamond.

Darkness around the keel
suggests leakage to me which may annoy you in time. It's hard to.tell for certain without a video but it looks to me as though the large step facets around the keel are creating a window through which you can see the skin of your hand, rather than reflecting light back to your eye as a well cut diamond should.

Be aware that Gary may be unable to comment further on another vendors stone without breaching forum rules.

Oh my. I have a video but can’t seem to add it here. Thank you for the info. I’ll see if I can figure out how to attach the video. Thank you very much for pointing this concern out.

Apologies for the tardiness of my response.

I marked the area of concern in bright pink.
The center demonstrates obstruction/leakage.
The dimness in the center requires more investigation.
I love the size. The clarity is great!
This static image demonstrates p3 issues, at least, at this angle.
If you can take a video, upload it to youtube, and post it, here, it would be helpful to see if this phenomenon is consistent across the stone, or if this is just a bad angle for a still photo.
If you are able to obtain ASET image of the stone (either your own or from the vendor), that would be significantly helpful.
