Opinions on this Winza Sapphire?

Wow! @toomuchB, thanks for sharing that cool Instagram post on the gem dealer's journey to cut that lovely Winza sapphire. I agree that the dilemma with Winzas is the difficulty in finding one that has equal color zoning of both red/pink and a nice blue without too many inclusions or looking muddy.

Today, I contacted some gem dealers I trust to see if they have any nice Winza sapphires. Ivan from Adamant Gems says he doesn't have any (for all the reasons described in this thread) and Joel Eram from EurekaEureka on Etsy says he doesn't have any, either.

Since the Winza deposit sounds like it is of limited supply, I am growing resigned to the fact I might never find the Winza of my dreams. But at least we can all geek out about the perfect Winza on Pricescope! :geek2:

Don't give up hope!
Sometimes gems pop up unexpectedly, sometimes gems find us.
An active search may be difficult indeed though.

@toomuchB, thanks for the encouragement! You're right; sometimes gems find us.

Also, here's some eye candy: a tri-color sapphire with red, purple, and blue color zoning from Madagascar already sold by Moriarty's Gem Art. Isn't she a beauty? Technically, this isn't a Winza sapphire since it's from Madagascar, but it's interesting that similar red and blue bi or tri-color sapphires can still be found from different locations. I have seen some muddy-looking pink and blue sapphires from Sri Lanka on Etsy, but I won't bother posting pictures here since they're not very attractive.

Wow how did I miss this?? I've stalked his site for long time.
And the video was only uploaded a year ago. I guess it must have sold super fast.
Thanks for sharing!

Edit- just noticed its heated, and to make myself feel better I'm going to pretend thats a good enough reason I wasn't able to snap this up :lol-2:

Ha, look what just popped up on my IG feed.
0.8ct 70k JPY which is about $485 per Google.

Japan-based sellers rarely sell overseas so just for fun. They often have amazing inventories though.

It shows the nice pink/red half but a blue that gets extremely dark. Nice strip of blue in the middle though.

On the listing page they have this one side by side with another that has a much nicer blue.
