Dear All

I recently purchased a new stone certified by EGL (Los Angeles). Here's the stats -

Round Brilliant
1ct, G, SI3
Depth: 61.9%
Table: 58%
Crown: 14.6%
Pavilion: 43%
Polish: Good to Very Good
Symmetry: Good to Very Good
Florescence: None
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick Polished
Est Retail Replacement Value: $7,760

In terms of brillance, the diamond looks bright. However, it also looks milky. I wonder if this is "normal". Since the diamond has no florescence, I'd have to conclude that the milkiness is due to the SI3 grading.

Is this a correct assessment? What other information might any of you need? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

EGL grading is not so reliable. GIA or AGS may well have graded that an H or I color, I1 or I2 clarity diamond. The cut isn't the greatest. Hard to tell much without crown and pavilion angles. Does the vendor have a good return policy?
