opinions on this diamond and value

been looking at this diamond and wanted to get opinions and possibly thoughts (without knowing what you would think the value would be)there may be a slight (cloud) inclusion in the middle but i was unable to see it when i looked. thanks

A 34.6/41.1 combo does not sound promising. If you're going to shell out the bucks for a GIA Ex/Ex and you're not going to check on things like optical symmetry, minor facet cutting/tweaking, intensity/weakness of light return etc... AT LEAST bring those pavilion angles under 41 degrees. Pass on this one and keep up the hunt.

I would have to agree with Rhino. There are definitely stones with better numbers out there. A pavilion angle of 41.1 is a little deep, but it's not the end of the world. it'll most likely be better than most of the maul stones out there. One important "characteristic" of the diamond you didn't post was the price. If you're getting an exceptionally good price on the stone and you've seen it in person and are very happy with it, then it might be worth going for. Of course, be wary of deals that sound TOO good to be true. If you haven't seen it and are going just by th numbers, I say pass. Good luck in your search

Stephen, can you post the price of the stone? I am looking at something similar.

Rhino: where do you to check on things like optical symmetry, minor facet cutting/tweaking, intensity/weakness of light return etc? It doesn't seem like the certifications (AGS or GIA) have these categories specifically.

I do agree with Rhino. Try to keep the pavilion angle at no more than 41' --actually most of us consider the 40.7-40.9' zone to be the 'sweet spot'.
