Here's the James Allen link: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...color-vvs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-11053906

This is my first diamond purchase, and I'm a bit worried it will look too yellow in a white gold solitaire setting. The fiancé says she probably wouldn't mind the color, but curious what everyone here thinks. I don't think I have ever looked at a round cut J before in person, I've only seen a J that was pear shaped and it was noticeably yellow. However, I understand pear shapes show more color than a round.

Specs:
1.71 Carat, J, VVS2
7.55mm x 7.63mm
Slight Fluorescence
Cut, Polish, Symmetry all Excellent
Table 56, Depth 62.4
Crown 35.5
Pavilion 40.6
Scored 1.3 on HCA scale

I should have it in my hands next weekend, so will know more then!

It’s beautiful. I love it. I do enjoy warmth in diamonds (I have an M). I think the diamond you purchased would look beautiful in any metal color.

Great to hear. I know opinions will vary greatly based on personal preference of color. She said she's not even sure what a diamond like this is supposed to look like :lol-2:

In my search I weighted cut proportions and clarity over color while trying to get the most carats for the money. I feel like I got a pretty good deal as stones with similar clarity and cut angles, depth and table proportions, etc. easily cost 30-40%+ more but with only slightly higher color grades (I or H).

I also plan to pick up an Ideal Scope and ASET scope to check the light performance when I get it in my hands.

The cut looks good. I worry its warmer than a J due to IGI grading. So might be closer to a K. The nice thing is that JA has a very simple return policy if you dont like it

I do feel like it has more color than other J's I looked at on the JA site, and is probably why I'm posting to get other's opinions on it. I did not know an IGI color rating is potentially warmer than say a GIA color rating. Good info to know going forward.

Looks good. No detrimental leakage.
It is an IGI stone, but JA is the only company here that honours its upgrade policy to IGI stones.
Enjoy it

Hey folks, wanted to follow up with ASET and Ideal scope images. Are the red areas in between the inner arrows too light pink colored? The reds overall look a bit more washed out and pale in my first-hand view than what the photos here are representing. Overall I think the symmetry is passable, but wonder if the light performance is worthy, especially in the center. Let me know what you all think.

This is my first time trying to use scopes so tips on how to get the best images are welcome.PXL_20210815_035554424.jpg

The ASET is as expected, based on the the video.

Some minor leakages, but nothing detrimental or noticeable in real life.
Some optical asymmetey.

Diamond's tilt, misalignment of the scope and diamond, and strong back lighting exaggerate these minor flaws.

Looks good.

Thanks! I may not have it set up perfectly straight in the photos, if that could be in relation to the tilt you're referring to.
