Opinions on a 2.6 round diamond

There are a few threads on the go at the moment discussing ‘I’ ACAs

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/thoughts-on-these-2-carat-aca-i-si1s.235911/

If you read through this one you’ll see links to a couple more.

Whatever you choose, you have a great budget and should be looking for a well cut stone. Can you see any stones in person to look at different colours?

I was reading this thread - very helpful.

I think most of the stones I have seen in person have been IGI certified so I'm not sure what I was looking at (D-G) was necessarily that colour compared to GIA's standards.

Are these both eye clean? Ask the person helping you/their gemologist to look at both stones for eye-clean-ness. What did they say?

I’d probably make a final decision based on what they say/suggest when they’re looking at both stones and asking which they’d pick.

I don’t think you can go wrong though with WF ACAs! Great choice. If you literally can’t tell the different between them and neither can the person viewing them I’d go with the 2.3.

The 2.22 is on the website as eye-clean. The 2.33 is "Inquire".

White Flash has advised the 2.33 is eye clean from 10 inches

Interesting. I personally think it’s down to whether you don’t mind the inclusions from less than 10 inches away and whether you can tell the difference between the two sizes. I personally feel like I don’t know because 1.) I can see the size difference when I squint so I might pick bigger 2.) I don’t mind inclusions, but if the size is exactly the same to you then why not get the eye clean one. I think both will be really beautiful choices and I’m guessing you may not care too much about the inclusions in real life if the diamond is sparkly. All down to your preference.

So I'm going to go ahead with the 2.3, its free to return so I wont be out hundreds with postage and insurance if I'm not happy with it as I'm based in Australia.

Will go with the 2.2 if the 2.3 doesn't work out. Will also keep checking to see if anything becomes available!

It arrived! It’s absolutley beautiful and looks far better than anything else I was shown or was able to find! Thank you all so much for your help! Will update this thread in a few months once it’s in it’s setting!! To give context I’m a dark room with a lamp on and the photo was taken on my iPhone!CC04B46A-6E55-4FEF-A8C4-499D3E0D2373.jpeg

I'm so glad it arrived and you are pleased. Can't wait to see it set.

That looks incredible! Can you see any inclusions?

Thank you for this suggestion. I don't mean to be difficult as I greatly appreciate everyone's help I'm just not too sure about going to an I colour?

A GIA/AGS I color will be white... ESPECIALLY in a super ideal. My 3.33 ct is an I (although not a super ideal, unfortunately), and it's very white... even from the side view (see avatar). Many other PS members have HUGE (like 5+ carat) ACAs that are I color and they are white. The higher the carat weight, the more apparent the tint will be (i.e. a 2 ct I color will appear whiter than a 4 ct I color)...

ETA: Just saw the photos of the WF stone -- VERY NICE!! CONGRATS TO YOU!!

Oh yum! I hope it's not a few months before that beauty is set. !!!

Yay I was rooting for the 2.3! Because it’s bigger haha. And yay that it’s eye clean! Can’t wait to see it in a setting :) Congratulations on an awesome stone!

Thanks everyone! Jeweller is on leave for January then will have to finalise the design and wait for him to make!
