Thanks to all of you whose posts have helped me narrow my choices for a stone to a relatively small range of stones and dealers. So, it seems to have come down to these:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3289/
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3732/

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1123357.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131

I believe all of these could be condidered SuperIdeal. All are 1ct SI-1 I or close.

Any comments/critiques on the dealers or actual stones will certainly be appreciated. I''m having a hard time deciding.

Looking strongly at these two settings

Thanks!

Okay, since one of your preferred settings is the Royal Crown which Good Old Gold carries, I would choose one of their stones. I would choose either the H SI1 or the I SI1, depending on whether a little extra size is worth the color drop for you. They also have a great trade-in policy just in case you later want an upgrade. Life is much easier buying the stone and setting at the same place, believe me! And the Royal Crown is a beautiful setting.

I agree!! If I could have gotten my setting where I got my diamond I would be a very happy camper right now. Since I couldn''t I had to find a different setting and have the additional worry about something happening to the diamond when it is being set.

I agree, getting the stone at the same place as the setting just makes it easier. If you go with the Royal Crown, I''d go for one of the I''s, assuming they''re eyeclean. And I''d also have Jon compare them for you and explain the differences/performance, as one is a TIC and one is an FIC.

If you go with the JA setting, that stone''s nice too, if eyeclean.

BTW, the link to the JA setting''s just brings you to the search page, not a specific setting.

Thanks for the input. What do you mean by

"as one is a TIC and one is an FIC"

Here''s the correct link for the JA setting

Hi Marc and Lisa!

TIC - Tolkowski Ideal Cut
FIC - Fiery Ideal Cut

Here is a link to the Holloway Cut Advisor if you would like to read up and get some more info.

Good luck with your search!
