As I continue my quest for a sub 2.0 HCA Canadian (certified) round brilliant diamond, I have come across the stone below. It's coming in at a 1.9 on the HCA. I would be very appreciative for everyone's advice/input on this stone. Specifically, if it is something that the experts here would deem a premium stone that is worthy of purchase.

Thank you for any feedback or comments in advance.

Definitely has promise, although the crown angle is a tad steep. To know if it's "premium" as you put it, we'd need to see performance images like an Idealscope or ASET.

Thank you for the feedback. Can I request performance images from my supplier? Is that something they would typically provide?

It depends, so I would ask your supplier if those images can be provided to you. Also, make sure your supplier has a solid return policy in the even you take a chance on it without the images. You can get it appraised by an independent appraiser who has an IS or ASET too if you're wanting to know for certain. Hopefully it's a good price.

Can anyone run a DiamCalc or GemAdviser on this stone for me? I don't have access to this software and would like to try and make a determination on light return (i.e. ideal scope image) and any other variables that may help me make a decision on this particular stone. Appreciate everyone's help!

Any help would be great appreciated. Thank you!

I don't know for sure, but don't you need to scan the stone in these software programs? So how can someone do that if they don't have the stone? Maybe I am not understanding the software program.

Why don't you buy a simple Idealscope or ASET and use it yourself? As long as the vendor has a great return policy, then this is a good option.

Hopefully it's okay to post that link......
