I have a mental queue of the gems I want to purchase and for the ones I already have that I want to get set. Then something sneaks in and starts calling to me. :geek2:

Does anyone have one of Old World Diamonds 6 stone OEC rings? I’d love to see hand shots.

I’m wondering if this ring is truly worth considering and, if so, how seriously. Does OWD sell ps quality rings? Any opinion on this ring is greatly appreciated!

I really want an AVR and am saving as fast as I can.... I’m not sure if I’m eyeing the 6 stone ring because it’s OEC and more affordable for me at this moment than the AVR.

Here’s a pic of the ring.

Thanks!

This would be my guess. In my experience frittering away money on lesser jewelry when you have a desire for something in particular always results in regret. But maybe that’s just me.

Smaller diamonds cost less so you can get more of them for the money for the carat weight (total).

But if you really just want one AVR, then spending your money on a bunch of smaller OECs won't get you an AVR any more quickly. (That said, those rings are beautiful).

Thanks for your replies @scarsmum and @ringo865 ! The rings are beautiful, but you are both right, I need to focus on what I already had plans on getting.

This is a tough hobby! It’s so easy to have roving eyes and there are so many pretties out there that are the perfect distractions. It’s as if super powers are needed to stay the course! :lol-2:

If anyone has this ring, I’d still love to see hand shots anyway. :oops2:

What size AVR are you looking for?

Something in the .7 - .9 ct range, but I won’t be ready to take action until next year. It will be worth the wait. :oops2:

While I think these rings are lovely, how would you wear it? As a RHR? In a stack?
How would want to set/wear the AVR?
Basically would this ring scratch the AVR itch enough?

I don’t know what size AVR you are looking for but there is one for sale in the preloved section

I was going to suggest the same thing, there is one recently listed on Loupetroop, but if you are still waiting keep watching there, both the types of bands you like and AVRs and AVCs appear on there from time to time.

I personally would save for the larger stone first otherwise anything else is just a financial distraction, once you have it, then work you way to other bands and so on.

Thanks all! I think it’s best for me to focus on my original AVR plan. It’s just hard to focus sometimes! Distractions happen.

Thanks for the LT suggestion. I’d love to take action on an AVR now but I need to keep saving with what seems like penny by penny for it. It will have to be next year.

Just wanted to say kudos for sticking with your original timeline. It takes a lot of self-restraint! When you're ready to make your purchase, the perfect stone will be there and it'll be soooo worth it.

I'm the poster child for wanting something, getting frustrated/impatient and then buying something else to scratch the itch.

I do enjoy the distractions I've bought, but honestly, I need another couple of hands to wear it all and I'd probably be happier with my goal ring. I'm going to try to do better.

OTOH I check out OWD site frequently and think those six stone rings are beautiful. I also have an AVR and highly recommend one. Mine is mesmerizing. :twirl:

Thanks! Nothing like practicing self restraint! Sometimes :appl: myself; other times I want to ;(.

The OWD site is great. And those rings are so beautiful. I’d love to see your AVR. Do you have a thread on it?

I don't have a thread on her yet. I initially thought I was going to put her in a new setting so I was waiting for that to start a thread. Now I've decided I really love her in her current setting though so now I don't know why I'm waiting. In the meantime, she's in my avatar pic and she's in the fire thread.

She’s a beauty! I’ll be looking for her thread when its her time. :appl:
