Opinion on this?

Honestly if she loves the ring then just buy it. 2400 isn't a bad price at all. Is it an ideal diamond? No. Could you probably get a better cut diamond for the price? Yes.

But if this is the one she likes, then that matters a lot.

One idea: if they have multiple versions of this ring in stock, can you ask for one with a better cut diamond? Or to at least see the GIA cert of alternative options?

I was just going to say that if she loves it, buy it. The price is fair I think.

I'm having a hard time buying that that is a .3 with halo on a size 7 1/2.

This is a relative look at a .3 on a size 7 1/2. The one on the right is a .6, which looks more like what she is wearing
if you ask me. I think you need to find out and be sure before you buy anything.

How much bigger does the halo make a ring look, half a carat? Larger?

My wife is a 7.5 and this is her 0.86 stone. The setting doesn’t have an identical halo but the swoops create a halo type effect if that makes sense.

I agree with @tyty333 that the stone/ring looks much larger than it should. Maybe you have the size wrong?

Excuse the bad photo — it’s not my strong suit. This is about 6-7 years ago.

I'm not convinced these are the same ring. The first from the website has relatively large stones in the halo and is more like a cluster which could give lots of finger presence even to a 0.3 carat center. The one in the photo looks like it has more halo proportions than cluster proportions with relatively smaller stones....Is it possible she tried it on with a larger center?

To all the questions above, I have no freaking clue. all I do know is whatever she tried on for US$2400 is the one she likes. Weather that matches with the pictures and videos I’mclueless at this point in time?

I’m on my way to White flash now I’m gonna visualize with my own eyes even though I tend to kinda agree with the people saying that stone looks bigger we’ll see

Stopped by Whitefish, and saw some nice diamonds. Both ACA and Precesion Lab Grown.

I also contacted David Klass, and that looks promising too. Just waiting on some more clarification from DK

Hello! I am all for buying the best deal and the best cut diamond but i honestly believe that even if you buy a bigger/better ring, your lady might be disappointed. With the price of gold right now being at the all time highest and the kind of ring that she has chosen (halo with diamonds, etc), i believe that the discounted price is fair. If you pay this and you buy the ring, you will be certain that she will love it and that she will be 100% happy with it. I think that this is the most important thing when buying an engagement ring. It doesn't matter what any member of PS believes. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If i were you, i would buy the ring that she chose and loves and i would make her happy. That's my 2 cents. I wish you the best of luck!

I also believe that in Asian culture mind clean is having the highest colour and clarity possible while cut isn't as important. And in the whole scheme of things, she already knows what she likes and has tried it on. There won't be any surprises now of her not liking it.
