HCA.png I'm considering this one at $30k wire price. Due to cultural reason, we stick to D & IF.

They don't have any ideal scope image yet. Any opinions especially on the cut would be highly appreciated!

Color Grade: D
Clarity Grade: IF
Carat Weight: 1.3
Cut grade: AGS 000
Measurement: 7.11 - 7.13 x 4.35 mm

HCA Score: 0.9 (I"m a bit concerned with a HCA score less than 1).

Looks great. You are really paying a HUGE premium for D/IF and could probably get a super-ideal cut diamond that looks almost identical to the naked eye in terms of color/clarity that is north of 3 carats for that price. But if "mind-clean" is a must it looks good.

with AGS 000 the light return is already guaranteed and you don't have to run the HCA. looks like a nice diamond!

(but wow. $30k for 1.3ct!)

Beautiful stone from BGD.

Don't be. HCA essentially imagines a chalk-outline of a diamond's elemental 2D proportions to draw its conclusions and estimate a score. It's a terrific tool for the macro world of diamonds, but it's a general rejection tool. The elevated specifics you have trump the HCA score.

Thank you everyone. I was very set with this one until...

My husband apparently contacted WF in the mean time and got a quote for a custom cut of a D, IF, 1.35cts approx ACA for 29k less and WF has an easier upgrade policy.

How Black by BG and WF ACA compare to each other? If the Black by BGD has a better cut then I don’t mind paying more.

Another thing is WF is a custom cut vs BGD is already available. Is it gamble to have a custom cut one?

WF price and upgrade policy make it very tempting :lickout:

So almost free?

Sorry my typo...too early in the morning! I wish it were 1k too lol
It’s 1k less. The price from WF is 29k~.

I received the hearts and arrows image plus idealscope.

I noticed the big white spot on the lower right of the hearts & arrow image. Can you please let me know if it’s ok?

Thank you!

That's just the photo. ;)) beautiful stone!

I think the stone you posted is indeed beautiful, but 30K is a very steep price for a 1.3 carat. I understand that D/IF is important to you for cultural reasons (my fiancee is asian), but I would encourage you to look for alternatives in the D/IF range to see if you could save some money while getting an equally beautiful diamond.

Here's a few options I pulled up on RareCarat:

Option #1: 1.26 carat D/IF
The cheapest well-cut option in your size range that I could find at $16K wire. Could not find any site with an ASET or IS image, so you would need to ask for those, but looks very nice from the video posted on Yadav. Definitely worth looking into:
Listed cheaper here on FourMine:

But Yadav has a video:

Option #2: 1.32 Carat D/FL
I love this diamond. Beautifully cut, and has all of the images available from Enchanted. Cheapest listing is on Adiamor at $19.4K wire.
Cheapest listing:

Has video:

Has ASET/H&A images:

Both of these diamonds are excellent options and are very well cut. If you have the liquid funds to do so, I think it would be wise to order one of these diamonds along with the diamond from Brian Gavin to view in your home. That would give you the chance to view the SuperIdeal vs near-SuperIdeal and determine whether the branded Brian Gavin diamond is worth the additional $11-14K over one of these other diamonds.

All of these companies have excellent 30 day return policies, so there's basically no risk involved in carrying out this experiment. You have nothing to loose, but you could potentially save yourself a bundle of money by doing so. :)
