Hi, new member here looking to get an engagement ring. Glad to have stumble onto this great website with its active community!

Budget is around $9k CAD (which is unfortunately around 6716 USD) plus setting.

I have the option between these two diamonds:

OR

Which one would you choose (or maybe neither)? I am looking for eye clean, which both of these claim to be according to the jeweler. I have put these in the HCA and get 1.1 and 1.5 respectively.

If you choose neither, are there some on james allen et al that you would rather suggest?

Thanks!

Neither is right. Crown angles are too low. In a 60/60 style stone (which is what both of those are) you want a crown angle over 33.5 and a pavillion angle under 41.2, and that is IN ADDITION to the HCA score.

60/60's are discounted by the trade (which is why they are in your budget probably) because so many of them have performance issues. The ones that are worth your time and money are the ones with the above stats.

Would this be a better option then? I do have the option of choosing this one too.

I want to put this link as a third option into my original post: is there a way to do so?

I prefer your third stone as long as it is eye clean. I have a 60/60 stone with similar angles but with a 34.5 CA. It is as beautiful as my TIC stones. Do you have photos to share? PSer loooves photos,IS etc.....

Yes, the third stone is much better. That said, is it eyeclean? What is their definition of eyeclean?
