I've been looking around at all the gorgeous rings and I'm so excited to get my custom ering going! We're going with Whiteflash and I'm currently looking at doing something similar to their diamonds for an eternity setting or the 3/4 diamonds for eternity. Not sure which to go with... I'm having a 0.9 J VS2 center stone put in and the band with have alternating diamonds and pink sapphires. I'm thinking the full band will look amazing, but I also work in the hospital and I'm a little worried about banging up the bottom of the ring. Opinions? For those who have similar settings, how does it hold up? Also, for a 0.9 carat, would 4 pointers or 3 pointers look better?

Hi Tacii, sounds pretty!
Welcome to PS btw and congrats on the upcoming engagement!

I don't anything eternity, but I would always recommend leaving at least a small space at the bottom for sizing and to prevent damage.
Ask any woman here, your fingers are likely to change size at least once (ie. pregnancy), if not more regularly.
So based on that I would go the 3/4.

Are you a nurse? Just wondering, as many ladies on here who are in that profession find delicate rings are not suitable for work..But if thats what you love then go with it, just be aware you may have to be a lil careful sometimes.
WF settings are very well made though (I have one), so you can be confident there

The ring sounds very pretty. Can you go see the difference in size at a local jeweler and see which one you like? I agree Arjunajane it''s a good idea to leave at least some gold at the back for sizing.

A band with alternating diamonds and pink sapphires is my dream! I''m sooo jealous!

I''d agree with leaving the bottom 1/4 empty. I''ve seen quite a few ladies around here doing it lately and it seems like such a smart idea.

Ditto. I am going a 3/4 channel band, stops problems with banging up the bottom of the ring and losing stones, and also it can be resized if needed. A full eternity cannot be resized.

arjunajane, I''m actually a respiratory therapist :) Still lots of hands on though, which is making me lean towards the 3/4 a little bit.. but on the other hand, I love the look of the full eternity band.

This will actually be my upgrade ring. My hubby and I were pretty young when we got married, income wasn''t the greatest and we were expecting our baby at the time, so we sort of just settled on a decent ring in a jewelry store. Currently have a 0.3 center stone with 3 tiny tiny diamonds down each side. He promised me an upgrade close to the 5 year mark (we''re approaching 4 years in a few months) and a proposal which I never got the first time. We have since had 2 kids, so I think we''re done in that department. I feel giddy.. this is so much more exciting than the first time around!

I think I''m going to go with the 3 pointer stones but still totally undecided about the 3/4 vs full setting. Eventually I want a matching eternity wedding band. Oh and the setting will be made in palladium!

I agree 3/4 will be better in case down the road you need to resize. I think the 3 pointers will be better so they don''t overwhelm your center stone. Sounds beautiful
