Not too good with princesses, but at least ask for an ASET which will be very helpful. Also ask how thin the girdle is - if it is close to very thin I would probably avoid as princess corners are prone to chipping.
James Allen doesn''t give ASET reports. I tried working with them to get a cushion. I got passed between 3 reps and all in all there were very unhelpful and I was not pleased. Maybe I just got them on a bad week or something but I don''t think I will ever try to do business with them again. On the other hand I just finalized my purchase with Mark at ERD. My diamond comes tomorrow and I can''t wait to see it. He was extreemly helpful. I''ll report tomorrow when I get to see the diamond, but I bet its as perfect as the pictures make it look.
I don''t know a heck of alot about princess cuts but it looks very nice, symmetry wise, and the depth and table are in the range, I think. I was looking at a few stones from James Allen and found the rep I worked with to be very helpful. She bent over backwards to find diamonds that she thought I might be interested in and really seemed to listen when I told her what I wanted. Even though I ultimately didn''t buy a James Allen diamond (because I couldn''t get enough info to get really comfortable with purchasing), I liked dealing with my rep there and felt she was honest with me and not just trying to make a sale.
Thanks everyone. This whole process is quite overwhelming. I haven''t heard much about selection when it comes to princess cut, but that is what she wants. Any pointers are much appreciated!
