One more thing about the HOF store I went to yesterday

Ok, so I see an H&A viewer sitting next to the wall. The saleslady tries to talk about the HOF stones and blah blah blah...she kept saying "they are the most perfectly cut diamonds in the world" It was almost as if she rehearsed that.

Anyways, she didn't mention arrows, just hearts and I wanted to use the H&A viewer to see the arrows because all their stones were mounted. But she kept saying, no you can't see anything because it's mounted. Is this true? I know I probably can't see the hearts, but what about the arrows in a mounted stone using the H&A viewer?

btw, their H&A viewer looks exactly like the the one found in the free diamond toolkit (labeled A) on suberbcert's site. superbcert free diamond toolkit

You can definitely see the arrows when set...I have taken pictures of both my e-ring stone and my Regent when set using the IdealScope and it shows the arrows!

You can ABSOLUTELY see the arrows when mounted; you just can't see the hearts.

ok. That's what I thought. Why was she so hesitant in bringing out the H&A viewer? I kept asking to just see the arrows. What's the big deal? Do you think that HOF sales people just know about hearts?? and not the arrows? I'm going back to see some loose stones near Vday.

and that brings me to my next question. Vday is coming, why is everyone's inventory so low?????? I want some diamonds!

I'm surprised as well, when we saw HOF diamonds, they were unset but the woman couldn't show us the H&A fast enough!

I thought the HOF earrings that I tried on were spectactular, but it might have been the store lighting. It is the only time I've seen maul stones that called my name.

(until I heard the price which was $10000 for 1.5ctw). I didn't look at the H&A, and the sales person didn't suggest it. Instead, she started quoting the great cut specs -- the only B&M person who has ever been able to do that for me -- including Tiffanys.

i went to a b&m store and they had HOF stones mounted as pendants. I was able to see the arrows and the proprietor kept saying how they were "perfect! the most perfect cut, no flaw at all!" hehehe

talk about brainwash marketing!

One reason she may not have wanted to do so may be to avoid scratching the setting. When I got my other half's e ring, I immediately pulled out the H&A viewer to see those arrows....well the aluminum of the viewer on platinum scratched it and FAST. And I barely even touched the setting, but metal touching platinum scratches it VERY easily, so they may want to avoid this, since you are just browsing etc.
