To tell you the truth, I have no idea what I will be selecting for a wedding band! I tried on a friend's petite eternity band and it looked nice, but I think I am going to need to post a seperate thread for ideas.

Regarding the setting, I showed my FI a similar design two years ago on AntiqueEngagementrings.com and he worked with WF to tweak the design. However, he wanted the ring to be a surprise, so he told me to send him other styles that I liked, so that I would not be expecting anything.

You hit the nail on the head. My FI wanted to incorporate modern elements to the design, yet retain its antique look.
