Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the board. I recently purchased an AGS0 round diamond at Christian Bernards. The report accompanying the diamond was from 11/13/2002. My concern is weather the diamond would still be categorized as ideal with the newer reports. The jeweler sold it to us for $15,000. Is this a fair price?

Here are the specs:
Carat Weight: 1.635
Cut Grade: AGS Ideal 0
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Proportions: Ideal
Color Grade: G
Clarity Grade: SI1

Depth: 60.5%
Table: 57%
Crown: 14.5%
Crown Angle: 34.0
Pavilion: 43.1%
Pavilion Angle: 40.9
Girdle: .9% - 1.4%

Thanks!

Daftsynth, welcome to the forum.

The numbers look pretty good and unless there is an unlikely girdle digging, the diamond should qualify to the new ideal grade.

Re: Price. For upscale jewelry store you should expect paying premium. You can compare price for similar diamonds in the web by running search from the front page or using "pricescope your diamond" box at the top of the page.

Thanks! I may consider returning the diamond and ordering it from an internet retailer
