Old European cut

Hope you like the stone when it arrives.

Anything new :wavey: ?

Any updates?

Hi, Just an update to the stone I received on Tuesday. When I opened the box I was surprised to see how white and sparkly it was. I noticed right away that I didn't like the shape of it. It was a little wonky and to the sellers defense it was described perfectly on the website I just didn't notice the shape to be that off on the videos and pictures. I know European cut diamonds aren't perfect but the facets and sparkle were really nice I just couldn't get past the shape. If anyone can tell me how to find a diamond with facets similar to the OEC's it would be appreciated. I know GOG has their august vintage rounds, but they are a bit pricey. Its still fun looking for diamonds so I will keep looking. Thanks for all your help

Well darn! I was hoping you'd love it. I will say that I think they look less wonky once set. Ill have to go back and look more closely at the photos because, like you, I didn't notice that. Hmmmmm.....

Awwww...I'm sorry to hear this. I do agree with MDS that once set, the diamond will appear less wonky.

In that case you might need to save up for an AVR or a Canera newly cut OEC which are marginally cheaper, or look for a even looking more round and symmetrical transitional with a chunky facet pattern or a more rounded more symmetrical genuine OEC.

I think buying a AVR or a Canera OEC would suit you best, the next easiest option would be finding a transitional which has chunky faceting like an OEC but is shaped more like an RB and the final option is just finding a much more uniform Antique OEC. I suspect since it bothered you that much it could be worth saving for a new old cut. There are also a range of settings you can use to disguise the lack of symmetry as well. What is your general budget?

Although it is out of budget I am guessing something like this will suit you better, it will have blocky faceting, but you can see that it is perfectly round;
