I promise I''ll share more pics when I have a decently sunny day here, but I am really struggling with whether or not this stone is a Transitional cut or European cut.

Any guesses experts?

Hhhmm, do you have any side views/profiles? Seeing the table will help tremendously.

No profile shots. I''ll try to take some in natural light tomorrow. It seems to exhibit characteristics of both cuts to me which is why I''m asking. :)

Not an expert and would definitely defer to Grace after she gets more detailed pics she asked for

, but it looks pretty transitional to me...
Maybe it has characteristics of both because it is a transitional transitional!

tee-hee...

The pattern suggests transitional to me.

I agree with Erica in wanting the see the profile, though. The crown height will give more info.

The "symmetry-ness" (if there is such a word

) and pattern suggests that it is a transitional stone to me. Note that the culet is also rather on the smallish side for an old cut stone.

Its a larger table..., not exactly OEC''ish...

Yes, definitely has a larger table which is why I felt it was transitional. My appraiser called it european so I was doubting my judgement. Here is a profile shot and a view of the table.
