OK...which vendors to check out at the HK September show?

Hi all,

Anyone else going to the HK show in a couple of weeks?

I'm interested in learning more & seeing some of the following IRL:

- antique cut diamonds
- FCD
- Colored stones

So far, I'm planning to check out Yavorsky and Leibish's booths, but does anyone have any other suggestions on which vendors to visit at the show?

I'm not necessarily looking to buy at the show (but never say never!) but am just attending to further my knowledge of gemstones. E.g. I want to see the Purple Orchid diamond that Leibish will be exhibiting.

I was planning on going but my son got sick with the swine flu a week and a half ago and has been really ill, so I have cancelled everything. Which days are you going and to the gemstones section or to the finished jewellery section? I think MissKitty from Oz is going and there is another member in Hong Kong looking for an Antique Cushion as well.

Oh no! So sorry to hear that you son got the swine flu. Hope he is getting better.. wishing him a speedy recovery~~~

I'm probably going to try to get to the gemstones section on the last day of that show (19th) then the finished jewelry on the 20th, but not sure yet. I am hoping to buy an OEC sometime in the next 6 months and want to see more antique cuts in real life first. So far I have only seen AVRs and AVCs in real life when I visited New York back in May.

I will be there.

Last year the antiques part was pretty small. Well, compared to the rest of the exhibition! They had some nice stuff, worth checking out. But it will honestly take no more than a couple of hours. And that's if you talk to pretty much everyone.

I fly in on the 14th and out on the evening of the 19th. Most of my time will be spent at raw materials but I plan to spend at least a morning at finished, of not a whole day. It can get quite intense.

Arkie, I'm sorry you won't make it there. I have been beset by health problems too, last week I had laryngitis and this week bronchitis. I just hope I recover in time to enjoy myself. I hope your son feels better - there is a strain of swine flu going around here too.
