Oh Lynn, I have to agree with Mara on this one (hopefully no offense to any Michael B owners) that''s the first side shot I"ve seen, I think the setting is WAYY more attractive from the top. It probably doesn''t suit your needs at all, but my favorite head of all time is Ladyluxury''s head from WF. Have no idea what it''s called, or if it will sit flush, but I think it''s gorgeous.

Is this the ring, Mara???!

like i can see anything in that tiny thumbnail?

hehee....good luck finding a picture, honestly i looked for weeks and found nothing that was large enough to show the real head detail going on there. but yeah that looks KIND OF like it from the tiny picture.

The last 3 photos are all the same ring - taken from pg. 2 of the RITANI gallery off the BBB website. I can''t get any larger photos from the smaller thumbnail photos (which were "other views" of the ring). Maybe someone else would be more successful at that?

OH! I am excited. MARA - lookie here!

i don''t know if ritani updated their site but last time i looked i didn''t see the head on any of the rings on there but alot of their rings didn''t even have a picture or an ''other view'', so i was kind of bummed!

ok so just as a disclaimer, my photoshop drawing skills are HORRIBLE.

but here is how i remember the setting. it looks like the head you posted in the tiny thumb up above lynn. the beautiful part was the sculpted bar that goes around the sides that goes up then down...i loved it. it does that all the way around the head. the blue in this is the really badly cut diamond...ehhee. hope this helps some!

Mara, I had to laugh. Your picture looks like a bust without the head (which is kinda funny since this thread is about heads). LOL.

I need to mention however, that I could do no better, only worse.

But it still cracked me up.

BTW, those Michael B heads look better to me when they''re covered in melee. Seriously, a big diff in my opinion.

I think I''ve asked this before but here is the Ritani 3-stone that has the little dip in the middle....similar??

lynn,

my camera is broken so I can't post pictures yet but I did want to ask if you've seen the pave settings in person that you are considering? Having owned a shared prong ring and now seeing these two pave rings, they are VERY different. The pave rings are very subtle and beautiful but not anywhere near the bling factor as the shared prong. I worry that you might be dissappointed in the lack of "wow" in the dainty sparkle bands, when you've had the bling all this time. Obviously I LOVE the pave look, which is why the MB rings are here
9.gif
but they do not look anything like your current rings in person.

oh, and I wanted to add, I personally do not care as much for the fishtail (step down) pave in person. I have my pics up later tonight but I thought for sure that would be the style I'd choose, but having both here, I like the bead set much better.

I did consider several rings when making my custom ring - and I *thought* I wanted teeny tiny sparkle everywhere on the band (microset pave) but there is definitely a serious bling difference between that and shared prong, which ultimately made me go shared prong with small stones, for what it''s worth.

Thanks so much for the note. No, I have never seen the fishtail pave in person... just photos. Yes, it''s a little scary when I think of it that way!!! I''m not tooooo worried, though... I am only going from 3 pointer ACAs to 2 pointers. I went from 5 pointers in my w-ring to 3 pointers in my e-ring (in the shared prong style) without any disappointment or regret whatsoever... so I am thinking/hoping that the drop to 2 pointers won''t bother me much, either. I do realize there will be a little loss of *bling*... but the whole idea of this is to really focus on and HIGHLIGHT my center stone.

OH! Your camera will be fixed by tonight for photos?! I can''t wait! Thank you SOOOO much!

xoxoxo
Lynn

well, the stones you will be using will be a lot bigger than the stones in the MB rings so that might help the blingage.

my sister is coming over tonight with her camera so I can take pics. my camera is out until the end of the month

First of all... that drawing is a work of art (and should come with a warning for those of us on here at work ROFLMAO) I thought it was either a cupcake or a torso.

ANYWAY... I love and adore Micheal B''s Lace rings. Except the heads. I went to the jeweler here and was so underwelmed by the head I just couldn''t do it. Frankly, it ruins the ring IMO. Thought about getting it custom done... but well, was worried how a copy with a different head would come out... and honestly like WF champagne setting (although I prefer it with a princess, I''ve decided)... which brings me to my point. Did you look at the WF heads with the diamonds on the sides? They are really lovely. IMO.

I was just scrolling down quickly to see where I had left off when I last checked this thread and saw your drawing. My first thought was, Why is Mara drawing a pair of boobs in Lynn''s thread. Then I realized, Oh, that''s the Ritani head. Very funny.

I have to agree about the MB heads. They are a bit thick and chunky looking. I do think it looks nicer when the head is integrated into the body of the ring (as is mine), but it does seem like, in order to allow the rings to fit flush, the diamond has to sit up higer. How could it not? Whether it's TOO high is a matter of taste. My rings fit ALMOST flush, but there is a gap. That's fine with me because rings move anyway AND my head is relatively low in the band. Not adding much here, just thinking about the trade offs.

hahah i know my skills are horrible. they do look like boobs. i died laughing at the cupcake comment. hehee. but there was no other way to quickly get across what i was thinking unfortunately! lynn, if you have a BBB near you, get in and take a look. i really fell in love with that ring/head and the profile was much more delicate appearing than in person. those ritani pictures up above look kind of like a chunky MB head, thin them out metal-wise with the swoop and thats what i''d go for!!

Hi Lynn,

Hopefully these pictures will be larger~

Oh Ivana! Thank you for the photos!
I was typing the above message while you were posting them. Your rings are STUNNING! And I can see how really small and delicate they are. More photos, please?!!!!

gotta say that in person it was so much better looking than that, i think they have another version of it or somthing. it was very delicate, the way the metal was crafted. but yes the same idea.

lynn, i still don''t think that''s it. the one mara saw was a true solitaire no sidestones or pave at all. we were all hunting for her in a thread when she first saw it. maybe someone can go and get another look or picture? The ones in my area closed so I can''t be of any help

Hmmm... I wasn't thinking that was the actual *ring* she (Mara) saw, but I was hoping I had found the same head. Maybe not, though? This is frustrating and a little nerve-wracking!

Actually, the more I look at the MB heads, the more I am liking them. I WISH I could see one in person, though. I'll bet the little decorative V insert looks so small and delicate in person.

Ivana,
Is that little decorative "V" on all four sides of the head -- or just two? Thanks!

I THINK I am LEANING towards the same (MB) style head, only thinner and less chunky, without the "V" insert and WITH a small and delicate horizontal bar... yum!

Lynn

i did a google and this popped up. i assuming it''s ritani. don''t think it''s what you''re after, though.
