From Mr. Barry - another Malaya. This was off his last March drop.

Here''s an outdoor sunset shot. It''s more pink than my other Malaya, but it does have a peachy cast in certain lighting.

In incandescent light - lots of fire.

Oh... such a array of different lavenders/purples and pinks... Love it! So, should I call you Malaya lover instead??

One more in a combo on incandescent and diffused sunlight. I like the orange flashes.

Sorry, I''m not as brave, daring and artistic as Mochi is with her gorgeous photography of gems. I would be too scared!!

Yes, probably, but this is my last one I think unless someone can come up with something close to an 8x8 mm cushion for my empty LOGR! Hint Hint Mr. Flanigan!!

I wanted a Barry round, and this was the last round left in his last drop that interested me. I''m really pleased, and I have a white gold setting for it already. This one is definitely more pink than my oval, but I think it still has a enough orange in there to classify it as a true Malaya. It just isn''t showing up as much in the photos.

Barry's original vendor photo. Bekily, Madagascar.

2.19 ct and 7.6 mm

Two!????

Either that''s just plain greedy, or are you building a suite?

Very nice

Another one!!! It''s very pretty. Less peach you say? Still, it looks great. These malayas are such a pleasing shade of pink.

This seems to be a Malaya week and I''m not complaining one whit.

Thanks IK. My oval is more of a coral pink and is lighter. This one is more of a truer pink, but it's still an orange pink. It's not like a pure bubble gum pink. It rather looks more like an umbalite in the pictures I took, but it has more orange than an umbalite, and it's lighter.

It''s pretty and you were smart to grab it because I don''t think he has anymore. Right now at least. He might still have some rough he hasn''t cut yet.
What type of setting is this one going into?

Do you have a picture of the setting by any chance?? I''m wondering if I want to go a yellow or white gold with mine. Mine is also more pink than peach...

It''s a heavy cathedral style setting with a euroshank.

It''s holding a cz right now.

Oh I hope he has more - I really think these are gorgeous stones, and I''d like to see more PS''ers grab ''em. Perhaps Gene has some as well.

So in honour of everyone''s Malaya, here''s a little setting I found from Krikawa that I think will set the Malayas off very nicely.

Gorgeous, and that''s more like an 18K rose gold - so a more subdued color.

If that''s rose gold and the colour could be guaranteed, I''d have it for my tourmaline project in a heart beat!

Ooops, I made a boo boo. I picked the wrong vendor photo. It''s this one from the last AC drop. It''s 2 carats on the money and 7.5mm

These stones could be sisters though.

Then I''d be a baby-napper.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. Sorry if I didn''t respond to each of you. I''m a bit scatter brained. This was my birthday present to myself since my last bday is in March, and last week stunk. I bought this before I went on my horrid vacation, but Barry held until I got back.
