Yes, I did see the pic of him as a child.Date: 10/11/2008 6:54:19 PM

Hello! No, there are no kitties in Leon''s workshop or office. Did you see the picture of him as a child? So cute. How old do you think he was then? Nope, my prongs never catch on anything. They''re too small.Date: 10/11/2008 12:31:55 PM

Hello Miss Harriet!!! I have a couple of Leon questions for you. I was browsing his site and saw cat pics!Does he really have a kitty wandering about his shop? As a crazy cat lady the pics made my heart all warm. Now for a jewelry related question. Do your prongs ever catch on anything?![]()
I''d love to be able to take you up on your offer.Date: 10/11/2008 7:09:15 PM

I could teach you some of the words we use but I might get into trouble with the admins lol... I don''t mean the obvious swear words.. the more regional ones.
Ha! I know when the pic was taken and can deduce his age now. I''ll ask him what breed that cat is.Date: 10/11/2008 7:32:39 PM

Yes, I did see the pic of him as a child.I''d guess he was 8ish. No kitties, huh? I''m in love with the cat in his pics. It looks like a Tonkinese. We really thought of getting one before DH surprised me with my big guy now. Thanks for the prong info.![]()
In what languages have you learned swear words? That''s a fantastic hobby! I can only swear in English and en espanol ( I don''t know how to add the ~ over the n). You are such a good client of Leon''s. Teaching you swear words is the least he could do! Prude!![]()
You are very welcome, dear Linda...I am looking forward to all of us getting together...I can''t imagine how there would be enough time to get to know everyone in one day!Date: 10/11/2008 12:30:08 AM

Snorts...like I don''t already know this! As one of Linda''s ''adopted'' daughters here on PS, this is no surprise to me...though I must agree she looks WAY to young to be a grandmama!
Awww thank you Harleigh. Can you see if all of us were together??? What conversations we would have. Great role model I would be, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

What are you upgrading to? Pray tell!
Against Leon''s wishes, Russian. I can also swear in the various Chinese dialects and Spanish. I''m learning Romanian and Swahili now. Leon is rather proper. He taught me one (non-swear) word and it turned out to be a scholarly version.
Aren''t you proud of me? I don''t actually speak Spanish, so your foul Spanish may be better than mine.Date: 10/11/2008 11:49:54 PM

What an accomplished girl you are!!!One day, you will HAVE to teach me! I have quite an affinity for foul language...When the children are absent, that is.![]()
Upgrading? Wellllllll, maybe...Possibly...Eventually! I happened to be at Harry Winston a few weeks ago and tried on a gorgeous oval three stone. The center stone was 1.5 cts. and the sides were .5 each. To my surprise, the size felt perfect. I really thought I wanted a 2 or 2.5 center and .5 - .7 sides. Dare I say it - I think that would be too big for me. Anyhow, of course I wouldn''t buy a ring at HW when a Leon piece would look just as beautiful - if not MORE beautiful. Here''s the tricky part. I just don''t think I want to part with any $ right now. It''s my constant internal struggle. We''ll see. I don''t know what it would take to get me to pull the trigger.

Hi Harriet!
I have missed chatting with you...I swear I have to check yours, Linda''s and Maisie''s threads to keep track of the 3 of you!
Myrtle sounds just, well, um...lovely! I bet her and Winston are quite the entertaining duo...I can''t wait to get another kitty and/or dog (I''ve never had a dog and Maverick was my only pet ever!) I am ready for a new little love bug!
I can swim a *little* bit. I used to be a good swimmer, but long story short, I have had 3 shoulder surgeries on my right shoulder and fractured my collarbone last December, so I am a sunk duck pretty quick. To get exercise I use a kickboard in the pool...I took it to Maui with me and it was, literally, a lifesaver. Everyone but my BFF laughed at me, but she knows I can''t swim for any amount of time...she clocked me at 3 minutes trying to tread water and nearly jumped in after me before we left on the trip. She wanted to find out how long I had on my own before someone needed to come in and save me!
So...I guess it''s not that I need swim lessons, per se, but I would like to be able to save myself if the need arose. I have noticed I start to get panicky near water and that is never a good thing.
I hope you''re having a lovely day!
We really should ''chat'' more.
Myrtle is a character. She likes to have her belly scratched, and will turn over to demand that you do so. If you stop, she''ll start kicking you. Winston is weird. He won''t eat unless his bowl is oveflowing. If it''s not, he''ll just sit there and stare or bark at it.
I hope you''re ready for another furbaby. They bring so much joy to one''s life (ok, and puke).
With your injuries, maybe you should work with a trainer who can personalise your routine?
I''m having a great weekend and hope you are too.

Hi Hun,
I do love dogs and cats who love attention! Maverick used to kick, too...it used to crack me up to torment him! I don''t care for standoff-ish animals at all...makes me wonder why they don''t like me, I guess! That is just too funny about Winston...does he eat everything IN his bowl after it has been filled to overflowing? Will he eat from it if he''s hungry enough? Your two little lovebugs sound like they are quite the characters, too!
Yup, I am ready for a new furbaby...Russ, not so much yet. He''s hoping he can hold me off by promising me some travel, but it looks like those plans have fallen through, so maybe when I''m off for Fall Break in November? I promised myself that I couldn''t even think of another pet before my house was done, but we''re heading over tomorrow to pick up the tools, ladders, cleaning supplies, etc... After that, I am DONE! Woot woot! If I weren''t so tired, I would do a little dance, but I''ve been out of town all day at a place called ''Apple Hill'' and I am pooped! I also broke in some new work boots today, so my ankles are killing me!!! I am really looking forward to not having to go to my house on Monday...what a relief I think that will be...and a whole new concept, too. Who takes 3 months to move out of a dang house, I ask you? Sheesh...
It was awesome, though...very cold, but a gorgeous day overall. I go every year with my BFF''s parents, who are much more parents to me than my own, and as I mentioned in another thread, his prostate cancer is back worse than it was 10 years ago, and my friend was worried that this might be our last trip. Neither Rusty or I felt very well today, but we stuck it out and had a very nice time. We always end the day with dinner at a place called ''The Old Spaghetti Factory'' and I was able to treat everyone to dinner. There were only 6 of us this year-me, Russ, my BFF and her fiance and her parents. It was so nice to get to spend time with just us. Of course I ran into 4 of my families and 2 of my co-workers throughout the day, but that was nice, too...I have such nice families this year!
Anyhow, the restaurant we go to is very popular at this time of year for high school homecoming dances, and all of the kids were out in their, well, um...finery. We had a fabulous time noting that gaudy is apparently coming back into style. We also noticed that all of the dresses were SUPER short! Some of the skirts were so short that we were certain we saw some butt cheeks, and we kept wondering how they were ever going to be able to sit down with any sense of decorum whatsoever! Oh, yes...flip-flops and formals are also apparently chic this year...I guess I''m showing my age because I just don''t get it!
So, the weekend is good...I''m really looking forward to being done with the house and relaxing afterwards tomorrow!

I'm proud of youuuuu
You're cursing like a sailor in a very big girl waaaayyyyyyy!
I speak a little Spanish. I grew up in So Ca - I am fluent in Spanish cursing! DS is in Spanish 2 (as a freshman) and the teacher offered to give him an accelerated course this year so can begin Spanish 4 next year. That way he would have 2 year of AP Spanish. I don't know if he'll do it, but, I'm very proud of him. He has a real knack for foreign language. I hope he learns several.
Well, just wait for tomorrow for a new thread to start...Nutso!

Hahaha Linda! I know! I''m so terrible! I just don''t want to leave the kids. We went to San Diego for a few days in May and the ILs could not deal with the kids and their schedules, etc. DD came down sick and MIL freaked. She wasn''t even THAT sick...Whatever! To quote her, "I am NOT a nurse." I think she got sick from MIL''s gross food handling skills anyway! Seriously, watch the cross contamination and nobody will puke, OK? Oh, I could go off! So, I told Dh we could go to Brianhead or Mammoth this winter. DD wants to learn to ski like her bros and daddy. And if he really wanted to get away together we could go to LA or San D.Date: 10/12/2008 12:47:00 AM

It''s great that your DS has a facility for languages. There are people who just don''t have a ear for accents.
Grr. She took a swipe at Diamondfan today.
