For those who have purchased from Odyssey Gem, do you think the pictures and videos are close irl to the gem purchased? I am looking at a yellow sapphire, but it appears to be brownish in the video. Comments are greatly appreciated. :appl: :wavey:

Yes. They seem to be quite representative of the actual stone.

Some gems for me are right on, like chrysoberyls, tsavorites, and Mahenge spinels. Blue and violet spinels on the other hand, not really. They seem brighter and more saturated in the videos, and I've returned three so far. If it looks brownish in the video, I would avoid it, unless you like brown in your gems.

So far, my chrysoberyl and medium light blue sapphire are spot on. However, it seems that the colour changers are no where close to what is shown in his videos.

I do remember a pink spinel that I bought based on the video, and here's the screen capture I took

Well, it didn't look anything like the video to me, and it had too much orange in it. I returned it. They relisted it with a far more true to life corrected color here.

Now tell me, do they look alike? If I had known it would look like this below, I wouldn't have bought it, but I was told it was like the video (above). Well, at least I'm glad they color corrected it, and I can safely say that in this case, the second time around, it does look like the video.

Now my chrysoberyl is very very accurate, as well as my Mahenge spinels.

Sometimes I look at those and wonder what kind of light is shining on them to make them look like that?
Is it representative of "real" light, or

I think it is the nature of colour changers that make it extremely difficult to capture on camera/photograph. Usually, some colour correction is needed to make the colour representative of the stone IRL.
