I'll start.

I was born with waist length hair.

I can sometimes tell when people are going to die. I see a film come over their eyes that looks somewhat like cataracts and they're dead within 72 hrs. It's happened randomly throughout my life and it's been 100% accurate. Happens with people's pets too.

I sometimes think I was born a lefty. I remember being able to write / draw with both hands but I was encouraged to use my right one. I drive with my left hand, eat with my left hand, and even try to shake hands with my left hand.

Wow @Matata that's a powerful gift you have, I think it would flip me out being able to predict death.

I am not greatly interesting but DH says that I tend to dress like Jay from Jay and Silent Bob or the Unabomber around the house, I either wear a hoodie with the hood up or a hat in the house all winter.

As a child I had pica and would eat anything including the soft satin border on my baby blanket, straight pins, paint off the window frame, I know scary right? I also has an obsession with peeling things, like the thin plastic covering on the Little Golden Books which later turned into a finger picking problem for 35 years.

Teeth must be flossed in the shower only and with a flosser never dental floss. Maybe TMI but I do not wear "panties" can't stand that word, underwear only and must be large enough to cover all the junk in the trunk and double as a parachute in emergencies.

For those not familiar with Jay and silent Bob I usually look like the guy in the gray hat, I'm sure he wears underwear not panties!

Ooh, I forgot my best one...I ate my twin.

Ok, ok, I didn’t technically eat her...I absorbed her, while in utero but my family often teases me about it. In fact, my niece (the delightfully creative girl that she is) sings me a song ”She’s a twin eater” to the tune of Hall & Oates “she’s a man eater.”

Thats taking a full head of hair to a whole new level.

It's a burden for sure. I've never said anything to the people I knew would die. I don't know if that's right or wrong. I have, however, told people about their pets; none of them believed me and all the animal deaths could have been avoided.

Maybe she was the left-handed one:D (sorry, morbid humor)

Did you outgrow it or is there a treatment? That's a difficult and dangerous thing to have, especially for a child.

I outgrew it, if there was treatment my parents didn't look into it or they thought it wasn't serious.

I was born with a full head of hair, but it wasn’t waist length! I had so much hair the nurses called me Hairy Mary

-LOL @Austina I love it. Hairy Mary. I don't think the nurses called me that but I too had quite the head of hair. Not close to waist length like @Matata though! That is amazing...do you have any photos? I would love to see that.

-I was born jaundiced (but lots of babies are I believe so not too odd).

-My mom lost weight with me during most of the pregnancy because she was very sick during much of it with nausea (old wives tale that a baby with lots of hair in the womb causes morning sickness). I think that is odd. Most pregnant women (who are thin to begin with) don't lose weight during the pregnancy. I do think she ended up gaining a few lbs before I was born however.

-Occasionally I just know what is going to happen. A premonition if you will and it is scary. I just *know* but I have no control over when I get these premonitions. And sometimes (and I am guessing it is related) all I have to do is think of the person and they call me. It's weird and again I have no control over it but it's happened enough that I know it is real. A form of mental telepathy? IDK.

-And I know this isn't too weird or odd (except occasionally but that is a story for another day) but I have very long legs (but I don't have Marfan's syndrome). I always did. (yeah I know, I am reaching here  )

That's all I can think of at the moment. I am sure more odd and weird facts about myself will pop into my mind though.

@StephanieLynn Oliver has PICA but there is no treatment for him according to my sister. He eats paper, tissues, plastic, anything. It's crazy. We have to watch him constantly and keep things away and hidden from him. Glad you outgrew it.

I would want to know @Matata. Especially if it could be prevented. So if you ever get that feeling or premonition about any of my furbabies please let me know. I think you are right re most people though. I don't think most people would want to know if they are going to die. However once again I would want to know so I could just make sure everything is in order and say goodbye. :(

I am SO SO SO SO clumsy. Constantly cutting my fingers, stubbing my toes, tripping on stairs and curbs, missing the last step on the step ladder. My husband jokes that I am constantly hurting him, whacking him in the arm or the eye or the face just by trying to accomplish some task while he is near. Recently hit him in the head with a ball I was throwing to the dog.

You have gorgeously long legs and I think they suite your frame perfectly.
Lots of women would kill for those gams. :D

I think it’s really cool that you have some form of premonitions. Isn’t amazing what we are capable of? I’ve always wished I could have some psychic-like skills but, sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. However, I have great intuition with people. I usually know within moments of meeting someone what kind of person they are. I just have an instinctive gut reaction to them. My husband once hired this guy and as soon as I met him I told my husband it was a mistake. Fast forward 6 months or so and we had to fire him (he was stealing). Later, my husband cleared out his truck and found a court notice for a domestic violence incident against his girlfriend. These days, my husband doesn’t get to hire anyone without me meeting them first.

Some really interesting facts here. @Matata I do think I would want to know, either for my pet or myself...

Me? I’m kinda regular, but things seem to happen to me in clusters or cluster****s. I did give birth to my only two children on the same day two years apart. I get some maladies on the same day years apart. My parents passed six weeks apart...So yeah, I’m a cluster girl, that’s my fun fact.

My parents divorced when I was 10 and my mom and I moved into a new school district. The first friend I made was a girl who lived across the street from me. We instantly bonded and it felt as though we had known each other a long time. My mother got the oddest look on her face the first time I introduced my friend and asked her to repeat her last name. Turns out my mom and hers shared a hospital room when they delivered us. My friend was 3 days older but we looked exactly alike and the nurses kept getting us mixed up and handing us to the wrong mom. Our moms showed us pictures and we were twins. We didn't resemble each other at all by the time we met.

HI:

I don't like/eat ice cream, chocolate, butter and most bread or other doughy products. My family believes me to be a mutant.

I have dreams-like premonitions. It freaks me out.

cheers--Sharon

Same here but I'm a southpaw and here's my ambidextrous list:

Left handed;
Write
bowl a cricket ball
hold a knife to prep food or clean fish
Cut Opals by holding the dop in my left hand

Right handed:
Throw a ball (seems so stupid with the cricket bowling being left handed)
swing a bat
Kick a ball
Play guitar
Wind the fishing reel handle
Hold the knife right hand when eating (again, stupid compared to prepping food)

I can operate power tools with both hands, neither way feels more comfortable.

The cricket one is hilarious as I played as a kid and my dad tells me about a conversation he had with the coach where the coach was befuddled by me

Coach: so he bowls left handed, but bats and throws right handed. Is he right handed?
Dad: no, left handed
*Coach laughs in bewilderment and puts his head in his hands*

This is just toooooo weird.
I'm also a lefty- and I share the bold items with you Jordo!!!!!
I don't fish, or play cricket......I play Baseball lefty....

I never realized the bits about which hand I hold the knife in when eating/prepping food.
Maybe most of us lefties share these.....

I love it! How funny that you used differing sides for different elements of cricket (I‘m assuming those are both related to cricket, of course, since my sports related knowledge is severely lacking).

That's hilarious!! I think it's probably from having to adapt to right handed stuff has made us favour right hand on certain occasions e.g majority of musical instruments are right handed.
If I played baseball I'd play completely right handed. Bat, throw and pitch. But I'm left handed. Go figure that one out :lol-2:

On the left/right front, I am a natural lefty but the nuns and their liberal use of a wooden ruler "taught" me the error of my ways in terms of writing, so I do that right handed. I cut with a knife in my right hand and hold a fork in my left hand... except when I'm using a mouse, which I also do left handed, so then I hold a fork in my right. That way I can eat and mouse at the same time -- makes for an efficient working lunch! Not much of a sports(wo)man but in golf I drive with my right hand and putt with my left. And bowling I go with either (but am terrible with both!).

He's a gift that just keeps giving, isn't he? :twisted2:
We've got one of those. We call him Super Pooper. :???::rolleyes:

I must burn myself once a day.
But only once a day - once I've burnt myself once, even if it's making tea first thing in the morning, I know it won't happen again that day.
Rarely badly enough to hurt for any length of time or scar.
It's as astonishing as it is amusing - I haven't a clue how I manage it. But it's consistent!

I was also born with more hair than most - though mine was certainly not a full, lush head like @Matata or @missy describe!

I'm Indian, but I grew up in NZ. My mother has a story about taking me to a doctor (in NZ) as an infant. He told her that I was in the third percentile for head size. She apparently spent the next several years worrying that I had some sort of commensurate tiny brain problem - turns out on average Indian babies have smaller heads than caucasian babies

This is fun!

I'm very intuitive, and sensitive. People confide in me all the time, even people I barely know. I can predict with great accuracy what pregnant women will give birth to (boy or girl), but I need to be around them for a while. I can tell when someone’s soul leaves the body after they die. It tends to stay around for a few hours I find.

Authenticity is important to me. I can’t stay around disingenuous people, they get me very agitated.

I’ve had insomnia since I was a toddler.

I’m a plant whisperer. I can feel their love for us, they are very kind and forgiving. I’ve only had 1 plant die on me. It was a small portulacaria, and belonged to my Mom. Such a sweet little plant but it was so sad after she died that it didn’t want to live. It died from grief.

I just learnt why you chose your screen name :))

@Begonia, my mom was a plant whisperer like you, reading what you wrote about your gift with plants reminded me of her, she's been gone for 33 years now. So sad that your mom's plant died, it didn't want to go on without her.

Yes!!! It was hard to choose a name, it could just have easily been orchid, cacti, hoya, or fern LOL.

I adore that one, and she had just come into my life when I joined PS. She’s quite an aloof plant and has a quiet personality. She’s not well at the moment - has mildew.

Thank you yssie, for getting it :)

We never get over losing our Mums do we? Sorry it brought it up for you girl. Love doesn’t die, it’s your bridge to where she is.
