Thank you all for your kind words with my little project. I was hoping to wear this on my two tone reversible omega, or on a strand of multi color tahitians. 4ranch thinks I need a strand of labarodite beads, which I am sure would be lovely.

The project is done. It appears I have two options to thread my chain through since the pearl blocks the left tentacle.

NacreLover, the hand oxidized octopus is darling; that hand oxidation makes SUCH a difference! I triple "second" the idea of a strand of labradorite beads I have some, and it's amazing what you can put on a strand of those beads ...

Yes, NacreLover ... I have a strand of small faceted labradorite beads, about 18 - 19" long, simple, on a silver lobster claw clasp. Bought to wear a small, subtle but very unusual silver and turquoise pendant. I also have a strand of somewhat larger faceted labradorite beads I haven't done anything special with ... unstrung. I got all mine from Intergem gem shows, either here in PA or VA; relatively speaking gemwise, inexpensive and affordable. Might try to talk hubby into the Intergem show this weekend in Chantilly VA. I'll try to take a photo tomorrow; it's getting dark here. Look for stones with good flashes of color if you go searching

NacreLover, apologies for the poor photos; last rays of the sun, iPhone, my scary hand LOL ... the labradorites are a warm grey, flashes of blues and greens ... about 3 - 4mm I'd say, although I don't have a caliper. Photos don't do them justice at all; very sparkly.

Thank you CRDKeshi! What a great size to fit through most bales. Your stones are very colorful and flashy. I bet they would compliment Tahitians in your collection. I went to eBay to check them out as the gem shows were last month around here. Sheri sent my octo baby off to me yesterday. I should have him sometime next week.

NacreLover the labradorite beads do look wonderful with the 3 Tahitian pearl pendant I got this winter ... but the bail is just a bit too small. I might have that bail either made a bit bigger, or changed to an enhancer in the future

NL, your gorgeous pearl looks perfect as the head of that adorable octobaby. The color of the silver shows off the pearl perfectly, and the hand applied oxidation brings out the details beautifully. I can't wait to see neck shots of your new pet!
