NYC diamond assistance

I just received an SOS call from a friend''s fiance in New York. He is starting his diamond search and he is confused. I would love to recommend some trustworthy diamond dealers in New York City. Do any PSrs have any great recommendations?

I think Good Old Gold is in or near NY, but are there any others other there with high marks? Appreciate any and all help! Thanks

Tell him to call Mark at Engagement Rings Direct...we bought my diamond and setting from him...he is a very nice guy, and he really works to stay within your budget. He is located right in the diamond district.

I went through Engagement Rings Direct site and now I am confused. I saw a great setting:

But then I recognized this setting is the exact picture from Leon Mege''s site:

I see Engagement Rings direct has this at $2300. That sounds like a pretty good deal - does he send this to Leon to make this setting? It is obviously the same photo.

If he is there tomorrow, he needs to go early. On the Sabbath LOTS of store-fronts close early. The closed ones will also be closed on Sat. (i am referring to 47th st)

Abe @ Ultimate was great and they have a full value upgrade. He is open Fri/Sat/Sun.

Yes, Mark routinely works with Leon on projects. Its a great partnership!! Mark also does really nice work himself though...

Talk to Barry or Judah. I didn''t get my diamond from them but I got my Superbcert Tiffany from them. Had to get the Ering resized and I am out in California. Barry reassured me and has given excellent customer service. I will be buying my wedding bands from them when I go out to NY next year.
