Now I really did it :((

GM lovely ladies and happy Mother's Day to all !!! Mothers are very special people...raising the next generation
To the human mommas and the furbaby mommas and all the aunts and grandmothers and everyone who loves and helps care for little ones..wishing you a very happy and healthy Mother's Day

@canuk-gal thank you. Bobby is eating a bit more. It's really touch and go and while he has a quality of life we will continue but once that is over we will give him peace. The steroid shots are life saving for now but bringing out diabetes. While we had a cat (Billy may he RIP) who lived many years while we were treating him for diabetes (insulin shots twice a day) Bobby would not tolerate that well. Plus Bobby has cancer as you remember so it's just a lot for our sweet little boy. But so far he is doing OK and for as long as that lasts we will enjoy him and love him

I hope you get those hours back to you from work. Either by leaving early or coming in late or however they reimburse you. Fair is fair.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day...enjoy XOXO

@Sunrises Sunsets Happy Mother's Day and I hope you are spending the day with loved ones. Thank you...you are right... we are getting in the miles...not at 2,000 miles yet as we should have been but that is because the weather has not been cooperating with all the rain we have had. Last week we only got to cycle two days of the entire week due to inclement weather but this weekend we are cycling our hearts out..rain returning tuesday but in the meantime we enjoy whatever cycling we can do.

I talk to my mom daily and she already received her Mother's Day gift from us. She is not easy to buy for lol but I know she loves gettin gifts no matter how small. It shows we are thinking of her and love her. We saw them just a few weeks ago. We never travel on holidays as traffic is too much here. It would take 4 hours to get there today. But we see them as much as we can and I do chat with my mom on a daily basis. Sometimes a few times a day lol. Finally she is getting help for however long that lasts. She is not in great physical health so I worry about her. Her rheumatologist feels she will be in a wheelchair shortly so I am concerned as I have no idea how they are going to make that work. Life is not easy as one ages. Thank you for asking and thank you for your good wishes

@Slickk Happy Mother's Day sweet friend..I hope you enjoy a most wonderful day with your sweet loving family

@Scandinavian Happy Mother's Day dear girl...hope you are having a blast

@Austina Happy Mother's Day my friend..I hope all is going well and you enjoy a sweet day filled with love and only good things

@MamaBee @Jemi @mrs-b @springerspaniel @finerthings wishing you all a Mother's Day filed with sweetness

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well and you are enjoying a lovely weekend

We went cycling yesterday and it was very windy as predicted but warmer than predicted. It was a fun ride and as usual the day went way too fast. Today we are looking forward to more cycling. May you all enjoy this day to the fullest. XOXO

Sharing one of my favorite photos with my mom...circa 1985. Italy.
I had just spent three months by myself in Italy (though I was with friends for part of the trip)
and my folks flew over with my sister to meet me for the last two weeks. And we were opening up the gifts (in the hotel room)
I had bought for them
It was a lovely lovely trip and memory

Have a wonderful Sunday XOXO

ETA I was half asleep when I posted above. I spent 3 months in Europe. Italy was the first part of the trip and I went back at the end of the trip to meet my parents and sister. I didn’t spend the full 3 months in Italy. Sorry for the mistake above. Must proofread next time

And happy Mother’s Day @Inked enjoy cycling and thank you for all you do for the ferals ♥️♥️♥️

HI:

NIRDI shout out and Happy Mothers Day!!!!:wavey::wavey: Missing my beautiful Mom of course.

We had a ride to our fav Italian place for a sandwich and pistachio creme puff. YUM! It is a little chilly and overcast--I think showers are in our future. We could use the rain.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Happy Monday!

I’m sorry to hear about your Mum @missy, life is certainly tough for your parents, and what a testament to their love that they keep on battling to stay together. I hope the weather starts cooperating so you can get out and cycle more. Yay to the end of the RT, I hope it’s done what it’s supposed to so you don’t have to go through that again.

I said from the word go that next door would never sell at their original price, and predicted what they would end up getting @canuk-gal. I know it was down to them and not the agent, they were just being unrealistic in their expectations. Woohoo to going on a long ride, and getting takeaway for MD. No plans here because ‘my’ MD is the last Sunday of March, and that was when our friends were here.

Honestly @Sunrises Sunsets, this is about the only thread I look at now, far better than raised BP talking to the deaf!

Lovely weather here, it’s finally warming up, although it’s supposed to be 101 degs on Wednesday  We don’t need it quite that warm!

Just about to FT with our friends, have a lovely day NIRDIs :wavey:

Have a wonderful Sunday XOXO

That is one sweet picture and it has to refresh so many wonderful memories for you!

I wasn't worried one bit that you wouldn't be in touch with your Mom in some way for Mother's Day with the close ties your family shares. I hope she is managing better with some help with caring for your Dad. I will say these are the bittersweet years with parents: the pleasure of being able to reach out and talk, laugh and hugs with them and the awareness that they are slowing slipping away from us. It would be nice and I hope you have some recordings of them talking and laughing with you.

I also would like to comment that I think I've put on 20 lbs just looking at all the treats you and Greg enjoy after biking. I may need to begin biking again so I can indulge in ice cream at that level, nice reward for your efforts!

You're right, it's much better reading for me now. I also follow the lab diamond seekers but I think if we would start cruising like you and your husband are often enjoying, I could be even happier!:cool2:

Aww thank you and yes! If you decide to get into cycling let me know. I love cycling so much. It's like flying without flying if you kwim. And it helps me get out of my head. Which for me is a welcome respite. As I get older it is more challenging to stay fit but I can't (I won't lol) give up ice cream..this is for you Sunrise..hope you enjoy.

Aw thanks for your very kind well wishes. Some good news. MY mom had a nurse's aid come today and help with my dad and she seemed pleased. Fingers crossed this continues.
Honestly @Sunrises Sunsets, this is about the only thread I look at now, far better than raised BP talking to the deaf!

You are on point. I couldn't resist last night and this morning lol but I am staying out of those political threads. Just was overjoyed Edan was released and had to share that good news. Of course to some they don't care but anybody with a heart does and I was/am so happy he was released.

Enjoy FT with your friends Austina and have a lovely evening

It was another glorious cycling day (and probably a few days before we will cycle again due to rain) and we cycled to our old hood (25-30 miles away) and spent some time today with our nephew Louis (and his dad) who lives there..LOVE him so much!!! He is a sweet sweet boy. A bit rambunctious and at 80 lbs all muscle I need to be careful he doesn't knock me down but he is gentle for the most part. And a LOVE

Enjoy a wonderful evening lovely ladies XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s!

Happy Mother’s Day to those of you who are moms.

@missy I bet you are so excited to be done with radiation treatment. I am glad you enjoyed some lovely rides and socializing. I am glad Bobby is eating. I am glad your mom is getting some help.

@canuk-gal that’s great you are having lovely weather too. It’s over 80 here today. We did have some intense - but brief - rain yesterday. We sure need moisture. I hope you get to leave work early someday to get that hour back. Hugs to you missing your mom, I know the feeling. Holidays are rough.

We had a busy weekend. Marty ran to Denver to buy a new mount to take astrophotos. Poor guy, got home, took everything apart and started setting up the new system and then realized he didn’t have the proper mount for his telescope. He ordered it and put the other one back together.

Take care.
Marcy

Good afternoon lovely ladies. Rain rain rain today and through Sunday. What a wet week
We had a telemedicine appointment this morning and then we went door shopping because we still have not decided on which door. We have it narrowed down to two at two different places. One is all inclusive and will install etc and the other is at a store contractors go to so much cheaper but we’d have to find someone to install. I can’t believe how expensive doors are lol. They’re both craftsman style and I love them both. I’m choosing a dark blue for the color. Anyway we’ll be making the decision soon. Monday the all inclusive place is coming over to discuss details and price

Then we ran errands and just got home. Relaxing with Bobby and the rest of the kitties. At different times since Bobby remains separated from the others.

Look at Fresca and Pepsi hanging outside in the rain lol. I love them so much

IMG_5371.jpegIMG_5380.jpegIMG_5389.jpegIMG_5390.jpeg

@marcy yes thank you. Very happy to be done. Now we see if it helps. Takes up to a year for full effect. Oh no about marty’s mishap with the mount. Glad it’s all straightened out now

@Slickk hope you’re enjoying a good (albeit wet) week

@canuk-gal i hope your weather is better than ours… We’re in a pattern one or two nice days then 7 rainy ones … oh well lol

@Austina hope you’re in the pool enjoying a wonderful week

Hello everyone else. Have a lovely evening girls XOXO

Hello lovelies

That IS good news that your Mum’s happy with the help, hopefully they’ll do a good job and ease the load. That face and tongue! Boo to the rain, but glad you got in a good ride and ice cream yesterday. Floating in the pool is my cycling, I can switch off and relax. Fresca and Pepsi are looking in good condition, thank goodness.

Aww phooey to the Mount not being the right one @marcy, so frustrating not to be able to just get on and get it all set up. How’s your knee feeling?

Got out and ‘de-fluffed’ the pampas grasses, my arms and legs looks like I’ve been attacked by a thousand razors! Who knew the new leaves had such sharp edges? We went in the pool after, before it got too hot. We hit 100 degs today, and tomorrow will be hotter  L brought the fluffball round this afternoon, she said she opened the door and he ran straight over

We’ll be in the pool early again tomorrow, the only plus side to this heat is that it keeps the pool lovely and warm!

Sending love and hugs to all the NIRDIs :wavey:

Good morning girls! Happy wonderful and very rainy Wednesday!!!!

So never a dull moment. We have raccoons who show in broad daylight and who don't seem to get along with each other let alone the cats.. they are definitely not afraid of me or anyone. They eat so much but I don't begrudge them the food. They are living creatures and deserve not to go hungry. I just wish they would share and were nicer. They are not afraid of Greg or me or the cats and the cats are scared of them. This AM two of the raccoons showed and the cats (Pepsi, Fresca, Cola, Dr Pepper) scattered. I went out to try getting them to eat in one feeder but nope they were in all the feeders leaving no room for the cats. So just now I refilled the wet and dry food in the two feeders and had to discard the food on the porch as it was filled with water. Darn this rain making it more difficult for the animals. Anyway there is no solution except for putting food everywhere so everyone can eat. But those raccoons are greedy buggers.

@Austina thank you. We are happy and hope this lasts as my mom is absolutely a trooper but overwhelmed and has been caring for my dad basically by herself for so long. Life is not easy but you don't truly get that until you are older, wiser and more battle weary if you kwim. And how telling it is that very few people here mentioned Edan but they can't shut the heck up about you know what. Telling indeed. My eyes are wide open and I see how ignorant and mean and stupid some people truly are. All they care about is appearing intelligent but they are far from it and when an American citizen (or any hostage of course!!!) gets released all they can do is complain about the current administration. Disgusting. Of course the NIRDIs are intelligent and have common sense and a sense of fair play. It's amazing how uncommon these traits really are. Anyway have a wonderful day and enjoy the pool and stay cool. You and Colin deserve all the best things in life XOXO

@Slickk happy hump day...hope your week is going splendidly and I am sending you love and hugs

@canuk-gal all we have is rain so I want to live vicariously through you and hope you are enjoying lovely weather and that work is not a bear. Big hugs lots of love

@Sunrises Sunsets I go in phases. From not wanting to deal with their crappy behavior to wanting to educate them all. But they are closed minded and don't see the forest for the trees. Nor do they really care about the USA. Instead they are virtue signaling but don't realize they are on the wrong side. Maybe one day they will get it but it will be toolate. I am concerned with current events but we cannot discuss freely. Just to say I don't do package politics. I see a bad move from any "leader" and I will call it out. I don't owe blind loyalty to any politician as I know you don't either. This is real life and I hate the fact some (not you and not the other NIRDIs) view this as a team sport. I wish they would all wake the you know what up. Anyway, have a good day and a peaceful rest of the week...hugs

@Scandinavian hope you are well

@MamaBee girl, sending love and hugs and continued healing vibes

@Jemi thinking of you XO

@marcy hope you are getting some good photos and enjoying a lovely week XO

@springerspaniel I am tired of the wet weather...hope you are experiencing better weather than we are and enjoying a good week

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well. Have a wonderful Wednesday XOXO

Hi NIRID’s!

@missy doors are expensive. You get what you pay for though. We had hinged French doors by Pella at our old house. One of the inner windows shattered (Marty heard it and we never knew what happened} and Pella replaced it free. We were looking at a Larson storm door for here and the builder called us saying they were going to install them on all houses out here facing west. It turned out to the be exact door Marty was going to buy so we were happy to get it free. We’ve been having rain too. Your mom and dad are from the generation who took care of themselves and did whatever they needed to do. Surviving aging requires that determination and grit. I keep them in my thoughts and I am so glad your mom is getting help. Raccoons definitely aren’t afraid of people. My sister has a family of them that lives in her backyard. Her cat and them often stare at each other through the patio door.

@Austina it’s getting hot there. We are bouncing back and forth on temperatures here. You’ll enjoy your pool in the early hours. Ouch to being scratched up, I hope they clears up quickly. I’ve been using some compression knee sleeves and it seems to help. The doctor I wanted to go see isn’t taking new patients. I have a friend who worked for BCBS and whose husband runs a bar here. She knows pretty much everyone in town. I am going to see if she has any recommendations for me. I am being careful not to stray too far some things.

Marty got his bracket to mount his scope today. Now we need clear weather. I’m - for once - ahead of my video schedule so I am getting my two biggest videos I do at month’s end ready for round one anyway. That‘’ll make things easier at month’s end. I typically have to get three to five videos ready for the beginning of the month, so it’ll be nice not to scramble those last few days. I did get another picture the other night before it clouded up. It’s kind of our rainy season here.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning lovely ladies and happy terrific Thursday.
More rain. Every day rain rain rain.
I sure hope this takes care of any drought situation and lessens all fire risks.
We've had a number of wildfires here in the previous weeks so this is a welcome change despite the no cycling.

@marcy good deal with Marty setting up the scope and hopefully clear weather comes your way. And you are on point. Doors are expensive. Glad Pella honored their warranty. And yay for the Larson storm door being exactly what you wanted and for the price. Sweet deal. That is true. My parents are from the generation that do not shy away from hard work and no excuses. The world would be a better place if more people had that attitude. Instead we see the opposite happening and it's a huge mess. Our hot weather came and went and it's pretty chilly out now. Not to mention wet. This weather goes right through you and chills you to the bone. Glad the compression sleeve is working for your knee but I am sorry the doctor is not taking new patients and I hope you find someone good soon. That photo is great thanks for sharing

@Slickk good morning...one more day and then the weekend woohoo

@Austina enjoy the pool and nice weather I hope

@canuk-gal hope you are enjoying a lovely week

Hello everyone else. We ran errands yesterday as it rained all day. Today fog and mist and some rain all day and tomorrow too and well we will see what the weekend holds. We are in this wet pattern. We are accomplishing a lot so I cannot complain. Bobby is leaning on me as I write this post and it is very comforting though I know he is slowing down. We have grown closer these past number of months. Going to make it that much harder to say goodbye. I wish our pets lived longer. Enjoy a terrific Thursday girls. Be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Woohoo, I’m glad Marty has the mount for the scope, that photo is amazing @marcy. Fingers crossed you can get a recommendation for someone to look at your knee to see what’s going on. It’s even hotter here today

I saw the good news @missy, and couldn’t agree with you more about virtue signalling. Poor Bobby, cherish your time with him, sweet boy. No rain here, wall to wall sunshine - and heat. Air temp was 99 and the pool was 93

Got out early to do the food shop, then back for some time in the pool.

Doesn’t look like any let up in the heat for the foreseeable!

Nice drone shot of the back of the house

IMG_1767.jpeg

:wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy I agree the world would be a better place if people had the values and character of your parent’s generation. We got chilly too but not much rain. Marty’s grandfather used to call cold wind “lazy wind”, it goes right through you instead of around you. That is a perfect description. Hugs to you and Bobby, he feels better snuggling with you.

@Austina ugh to warmer temperatures. Summer is on the way. Love the drone shot of your house. It looks fabulous. I see our observatory (not finished yet) is already on Google maps.

We had CRAZY wind today. I swear I should start naming those wind storms with hurricane names. I’d go through the alphabet several times. I had a busy day, worked on several videos, wrote up some notes on the design on the back we’ve been editing for work and got my lifting done. I hardly ever have my diamond on in the living room and I’ve discovered the canned lights in the living room are as good as hardware stars. I’ll be wearing my diamond all the time now. Ha!

Take care.
Marcy

No new pictures tonight. It’s cloudy.

Good morning lovely ladies and happy FriYAY!

@Austina wow it is warm by you...our temps are getting warm too but not that warm. Glad you have the pool to enjoy and keep cool..we actually did venture out yesterday cycling and it worked out. Took a chance and glad we did. Thanks for the wise words about Bobby. It's hard. I still feel so sad about Tommy and then of course start thinking about Francesca and Fred and my heart is heavy. I know deep grief is the price we pay for great love but I so wish our furry babies lived longer...I think about Dottie too. May they all be resting in peace and together at Rainbow Bridge. A fairy tale I wish would be true. Love that drone shot. So cool

@marcy ugh I hate the wind. It is generally too windy here all the time and cycling in the wind can be challenging. Sometimes we get lucky and we have a tail wind both ways (the wind changes direction mid day sometimes) though sometimes it works the other way lol and head wind both ways. If you do decide to name them use my name for one...I don't know if there has ever been a hurricane with my name on it. Good job on your video and and lifting. Sweet. I "lifted" yesterday too. Ooh nice the canned lights bring out the beauty in your bling...whenever you are in the mood we wouldn't mind pics :)

@Slickk happy FriYAY and happy almost weekend. Hope all is going well and life is being sweet to you

@springerspaniel our tree is getting greener by the day..hope you enjoy a wonderful friYAY and weekend

tree2025.png

@canuk-gal hope you are having a terrific week and looking forward to an even better weekend

@Scandinavian hope you are doing well and everyone is well by you

Hello everyone else. Happy almost weekend.
We did end up cycling yesterday despite the rain risk and we lucked out because besides initial mist when we started it cleared and became a good cycling day. So happy we got to cycle. Today hoping for more cycling though there is still a rain risk. If we waited for purrfect weather we would never cycle lol. It is warm as it should be this time of year and very foggy. It's been very foggy all week and the foghorns are working overtime.

I was all dressed in rain gear for our cycling adventure yesterday but turns out it was not necessary

missycyclingraingear.png

Enjoy a friYAY filled with YAY and only good things. XOXO

Well our luck ran out this afternoon as the rain started much earlier than predicted and thunder and lightning accompanied it which was not at all predicted. We were 15 miles from home and we got soaking wet. We cycled as fast as we could lol. We are now safe and sound and we did get to cycle 42 miles so not bad lol. But I draw the line at thunder and lightning because that is just not worth it. Too bad the meteorologists never predict the weather correctly. I mean almost never.

We are socked in with fog and have been all week...eery...reminds me of that movie. Was it called Fog?
Screen Shot 2025-05-16 at 1.48.25 PM.png

Have a great afternoon girls

Happy Caturday Saturday lovely ladies!
I just wanted to say good morning and wish everyone a wonderful weekend.

Yesterday not only did we get caught in thunderstorms and rain but there were tornado warnings all over the state.
I am glad I didn't know that as we were cycling home lol

Today rain is predicted most of the day but we will evaluate more closely and then decide what to do
Tomorrow is supposed to be dry (yay) and very windy...hopefully cycling is on the table for sure tomorrow but not looking good today

@Slickk I cannot believe we are almost in summer. Wow. Have a wonderful weekend

@canuk-gal hope you have a fun weekend no matter what is on the agenda

@Austina I have a feeling the pool is on your weekend schedule..enjoy

@MamaBee thinking of you

@Inked hope you are enjoying some R&R and have a wonderful weekend

@springerspaniel happy weekend...have fun

@marcy hope your weather clears so you can get some great photos and that you are enjoying your new recliners to the max

Hello everyone else. Hope you all have a lovely weekend filled with joy, love and peace XOXO

Hello lovelies

It’s HOT :lol-2:

Sorry you got wet @missy, please send some of your rain our way :D It will be great fully received! Good job you got back safely, I can’t imagine being stuck out in thunder and lightning, scary stuff.

We’re spending a lot of time in the pool, it’s really hot already, I don’t think it was this hot last May.

Not much else doing, oh, we’ve booked another cruise, too good a deal to pass up

Have a great weekend lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!

Mixed bag for weather--cloudy, cool, sunny , warm, cloud burst, windy, calm. Typical weather here!!! Was up early and did some errands, came home rested, and went out on a marathon shopping experience for shirts and shorts for the DS. We lucked out on shirts, but no shorts. I got some bottoms for myself---all on sale! No cycling cuz the weather is volatile. Same tomorrow and holiday Monday. boohoo. We have plans regardless.

@Austina jeali of your weather! Good on the trip planning!!! My former neighbours do 5 back to back cruises in the winter. They love it!

@missy sorry you got soaked. I hate that feeling!!!! I am a fair weather cycler!!! Those kitties look pretty comfy!!! Sorry about racoons--they are relentless as scavengers usually are.

@marcy, bears repeating--your pictures are wonderful!!! Sorry for the horrid winds, that bugs me as well.

cheers--Sharon

Good morning lovely ladies and happy Sunday!

@Austina thanks. It wasn't too bad. And yesterday was another adventure more on that below. I am gladly sending rain vibes your way. We are now dry until Wednesday. I have a feeling we will have a hot and wet summer. Just my hunch. Yay for another cruise and in the meantime enjoy the pool in the heat XOXO

@canuk-gal we have been drenched on the bike so many times. I never purposefully do that but if we waited for a purrrfect forecast we would never cycle here in the northeast. But yeah it is not fun being drenched and cycling a long way back with wind driven rain hitting our face..felt like hail no joke. Yesterday was better but well we had a few adventures. Never a dull moment here.

@Slickk how is your weekend going? I hope you are having a terrific time and I know you are looking forward to summer and vacation

@marcy hope the winds have lessened. It is super windy here today (par for the course) but hey we have to live with the wind here and so we do. As long as power stays on I am OK lol. Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend and looking forward to more photos

@springerspaniel happy weekend hope all is going well

@Scandinavian good morning

@MamaBee good luck with the sales..fingers crossed it goes smoothly

Hello everyone else. OK what a day yesterday was lol. We decided to go cycling despite the rain and the first hour was only a bit of drizzle and the rest of the day dry and hot. BUT. We had 3!!!!! flats. The tube was defective and Greg did the best he could. First flat he didn't realize it was defective and just took care of it. Second flat (12 miles later) he was like what is going on and he thought he figured it out. Third flat was it. He was perplexed but finally figured out it was defective so he then patched it and we finished our ride and did 60 miles despite it all. It took all day with three flats but who cares. Any day we cycle is a good day! Unfortunately we skipped ice cream because of all the flats as it set us behind so we sacrificed ice cream....today hopefully ice cream (and cycling of course) is on the agenda woohoo. What a week with all the rain. And we are getting more next week starting Wednesday. It is shaping up to be a very wet spring indeed

We also changed like three times because the weather kept changing. Ahhh living in the Northeast lol

Flat #1

Palm trees all planted
Gotta love the jersey shore where palm trees are planted every spring and removed mid winter lololol

And finally Flat #3..our last flat of the day
Fingers crossed no cycling or other mishaps today but if we do may we get out of them Just fine pretty please lol

Last night was our youngest niece's junior prom...she has grown into a lovely young lady. Beautiful on the inside where it counts but also lovely on the outside. Her heart is made of gold. She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She is one of a kind...sweet, generous and a good soul
I don't remember having a junior prom..did any of you have one?

Screen Shot 2025-05-18 at 5.46.32 AM.png

Before I forget...@MamaBee wanted me to tell everyone she says hello and misses you all...she will return as soon as life gets less hectic but she is thinking of everyone here

May your Sunday be super sweet and fun and filled with only good things XOXO

Hello @Slickk @Austina @canuk-gal @springerspaniel @MamaBee and everyone else.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to a good week.
May it be sweet and fruitful.
Enjoy, be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Hope you’ve all had a good weekend.

How did the US appts go @missy? Hopefully all good. Thank goodness Greg is so handy, what a day, 3 punctures, good job you were prepared. It was very windy here too yesterday, howling in fact. That pup’s smiling face always makes me laugh. Wow, your niece will be fighting the boys off with a stick, she always was a lovely girl, and is even lovelier now on the outside as she is on the inside.

We spent time in the pool on Saturday, but it was far too windy yesterday, I think we’d have had trouble getting the cover off and on. Plus it was the Worlds Strongest Man comp., so we were keeping up with the events via YT. I was also messaging a friend we made when we went to Myrtle Beach, she loves it to so we were discussing the heats and scoring. Like me, her friends don’t share her interest

Good score on the bargains @canuk-gal, think of all the money you’ve saved  We like cruising but I don’t think we could do back to backs. We used to see a couple who did 6 B2B over the winter as they lived somewhere really cold. He was killed by a truck mounting the kerb as it took a corner, it was an awful, needless accident.

I’ve rearranged the car service for tomorrow instead of next week, so we’ll be out all morning.

:wavey:

Good morning and happy terrific Tuesday lovely ladies!

@Austina it went well thank you for asking but I wont have results for a few days. The imaging center does not do anything online so I have to call tomorrow or Thursday to see if the radiologist read both ultrasounds and then they have to get the report ready and I will have to pick it up. It's like a different century there lol but I go for the technician because she is competent and very nice. Thanks for your lovely comments about my niece. She is a sweet girl and I hope this world isn't too harsh for her. I know for me as an HSP it can be hard to take. Greg often says I am not made for this world and he is right. Just this morning so many cats and then the raccoons and I am worried that some are not getting enough to eat. But I keep putting food out. I already put out over 10 cans of wet this morning and 8 plates of dry and then we have the large automated feeder on the side of the house that has dry food 24/7 for the cats. Our bill last year for just feeding the feral cats was $9700 and I know this year is going to be even higher because we have more outdoor cats to feed. I am just grateful we can afford it. I don't mind doing giving up things as long as we can feed the cats. We are not at that point yet but if it happened then I would be fine doing without for the cats. We have all we need anyway and the important thing is the well being of our loved ones including the cats. Sorry for the long winded post to you. It's just the cats are on my mind right now.

Speaking of which Bobby is slowing down and while the time is not now I know it is coming. I am struggling with what to do. He definitely is developing diabetes which is treatable but not without many vet visits at least once a week to figure out how much insulin he needs to get it under control. And he is not the kind of cat to do well with that kind of stress. Add in the fact he has lymphoma and I just dont know what to do. I cannot put a cat down because he has a treatable disease (diabetes) but there are many mitigating factors so ugh. Right now we are continuing to love and care for him and do the best we can but we are going to have to make a decision soon because we cannot let his blood sugar elevate beyond a certain point without doing something

Thanks for listening. Have a wonderful day and enjoy and may the wind be less for all of us. I will speak to the weather below

Hello @marcy @springerspaniel @Slickk @canuk-gal @MamaBee and everyone else...hope you are enjoying a nice week
We went cycling yesterday and it was once again super windy. And we are in this weather pattern where we have one or two decent weather days and then rain for the next 5-6 days and here we go again. Starting tomorrow. Rain for the rest of the week and perhaps weekend. Mother Nature please give us better weather for a longer period of time..pretty please. Somehow we reached 2100 miles yesterday which is nothing short of a miracle given the fact we have had rain every week for the majority of the week including weekends so I am pleased with the mileage. Just hoping for less crappy weather and more days to cycle

Leaving you with our sweet treat yesterday...hoping one day we can enjoy together
Greg got a new flavor lemon poppy

Enjoy a sweet and terrific Tuesday lovely ladies XOXO

Hello lovelies

I hope the results come back soon @missy, I hate the waiting. Your weather is a being a real pain, HOT here, I think we’re going to be in for a killer summer. Yum, the lemon poppy ice cream sounds right up my street :lickout: My friend’s cat became diabetic, and try as they might, they just couldn’t get him stable, he was totally miserable, and it was kinder to let him go. I know you’ll always do whatever you can for Bobby, without negatively affecting his quality of life. The ferals are lucky to have you, I hope they appreciate it! Please say hello to @MamaBee, and let her know I’m wishing her well and hope we see her here again soon.

Took the car in for its 20,000 mile/2 year service - I’ve only done 6,600 miles  We went shopping and out for lunch while it was there, and when we got home, we went in the pool.

Grass cutting tomorrow morning, then I must do my roots, Lily Munster’s got nothing on me

Big love and hugs to all the lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

Good morning lovely ladies and happy rainy and wonderful Wednesday!

@Austina truth. The weather sucks. Rain rain rain rain rain one nice day rain rain rain rain rain lol. But every day with Greg and the kitties is a good day and we make the best of it. Though I am disappointed with the number of days we have been able to cycle. And like you I feel the summer weather will be challenging be it heat or rain. Thanks for the good wishes with my results. Waiting is hard. I called yesterday two hours before they closed to ask if the reports were ready but they dont answer the phone so I left a message. I hope they call back today and that we can pick up the reports today but it might not even have been read yet by the radiologist. Depends how short staffed they are and everyone is short staffed these days or so it seems. Glad you got your car checked and we don't drive much either. The trip to my parents and doctors in the city is what adds on the miles but locally we generally cycle or walk. Haha Lily Munster. I have not colored my hair for a year or more because it's not worth it for me. My hair looks awful and I am at peace with it plus I have my alternative hair lol. Enjoy a wonderful Wednesday and enjoy your pool...I cannot believe Memorial Day weekend is almost here

@Slickk yay long weekend,,,my niece came home from college last night..freshman year finished...wow. Have a great rest of the week and an even better holiday weekend

@marcy happy Wednesday...hope you are having a good week and the skies have been clear for photos

@canuk-gal good morning. Hope you are having a smoothly run week and all is well

@springerspaniel any holiday plans? Fingers crossed the weather behaves...enjoy a wonderful Wednesday

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well. Yesterday might be our last cycling day for a while because crappy weather is once again here. Luckily this AM it held off till the ferals were fed and I just hope they can get food throughout the day between the rain drops. Supposed to be heavy rain for the next few days so it's a challenge for the kitties. Though Pepsi doesn't seem to mind it too much. However in torrential rain no. She won't come out even though she is very food motivated

Fresca hanging out in our (their) side yard yesterday afternoon

And a new kitty...she has been showing up every now and then..have not named her yet

Have a sweet and wonderful Wednesday lovely ladies XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy yes, strong wind sucks. At least you get the ocean to look at, but I don’t mind my view. I’ve got some mountains in the distance. I should start naming the wind storms, I’d be up to “m” in no time. Stupid wind. Love your rain gear. You look well protected and warm. Glad you made it home safe from the storm. Your niece is lovely and she’s sure grown up. Oh no to three flat tires. I hope you get a good report card on your US. You and Greg are saints for feeding the cats. I hope Bobby perks up, hugs to him, you and all the kitties. And Greg too.

@Austina my in-laws said Arizona has been over 100 for a while. We are up and down here right now on temperature. Nice to have another cruise booked. That’s the same on my car, the mileage service never matches the odometer. My car is over four years old now and it’s got a little over 17,000 miles on it.

@canuk-gal your weather is probably similar to ours. It sounds like your shopping trip was mostly a success. Usually, the things you need most are what you don’t find. Marty needs some more shorts. He ruined a lot of them with paint and caulk working on the observatory. He has a stack of “work shirts” - aka tee shirts. Ha Ha.

Not much new here. Right now it looks like a clear sky tonight, I’ll whine until Marty at least opens the observatory for me. Work this week has been on videos and we’ve talked to the publisher a few times on the book we edited. They hope to get it out by Christmas. The author is 87, old school and resistant to change. We’ll see how things progress. He self-published the book for years, since the 1970’s, but it needed updating. If he doesn’t get everything done and to the graphic designer by the end of June, it’ll never make it out this year. It’s a classic astronomy “bible”. I used it A LOT when I was teaching. The guy sees things in a way the is very unique and he is wonderful at explaining things. It’s pretty cool for me to work on a classic astronomy book.

Take care.
Marcy

Hello lovelies

Ugh, sorry the results weren’t back when you called @missy. My grey/white streak is mainly on my parting, and I just can’t leave it. If it was all over, it would be different. Who am I kidding, there’s no way I’m going grey, I’d look 150  I try to leave it as long as possible between colouring, and in between times, I use a root spray to cover it. The ginger kitty is lovely, I have visions of the ferals getting together to compare notes on the places they eat, and telling the others about the Kitty Cafe at your place :lol-2:

Do you think you’ll keep your car @marcy? At this rate we’ll have only done 30,000 miles in 10 years! Is everything in the house all sorted, I can’t believe it’ll be nearly a year since you moved? Sounds like an interesting project to be working on, hopefully it’ll all be ready for publishing soon.

We cut the grass at the front this morning, then went in the pool, then I did my roots. We’ve booked another cruise this afternoon, we’re going to be really busy for the rest of the year  New York to Vancouver. We have done a New England cruise before, and always wanted to do it again.

We didn’t win at Trivia, but neither did the sour pusses, but we had fun, which is the main thing.

Love and hugs to you all :wavey:
