newbie..question about setting

I want to thank everyone who has posted pictures of their beautiful rings and specs. I''ve gain so much from this site!

Here''s our issue. We''ve found a diamond on WF (ACA 1.2 F VS1

), and was going to set it in their Tiffany knife-edge platinum. But after reading about the SuperbCert/Excel Tiffany replica and seeing all the beautiful pictures, we''ve decided to go with that one instead. Here''s the dilema, we want SC to make the setting and ship it to WF to mount the diamond. However, if we do that, the warrantee on the setting will be invalid.

Has anyone purchased a setting from SC and had WF mount the stone? Any problems?

If you did it the other way around and had SC make the setting and then sent your stone to SC to be set, your stone wouldn''t be covered while being set. I would worry more about the stone than the setting.

my thoughts exactly. that''s why i''m having WF set the stone. just nervous about dealing with two vendors instead of one...

It will be fine, both vendors have a great reputation here and having the setting get damaged beyond repair is very rare.
