Hi Guys,

i am currently looking for a round diamond, prepping to propose my gf. what i have on mind is as follow and could not decide which one to go for with the budget.:(2

option 1 - Price USD 2000 (Triple excellence on cut, polish and symmetry):
C : 0.58
C : VS1
C : F
Dimension 5.33-5.36*3.33
Fluor : N
Depth : 62.4
Table : 58

Option 2 - Price USD 1800 (triple Ex on cut, polish and sym) :

C: 0.58
C : F
C: VS2
Dimension : 5.3-5.33*3.34
Fluor: F
Depth : 62.9
Table : 58

Option 3 - Price USD 1880 (triple Ex on cut, polish and Sym):
C: 0.57
C : E
C : VS2
Dimension 5.29-5.33*3.3
Depth: 62.1
Table : 58

I have seen some video, comparing 3 types of diamond with the same spec in both of the carat, colour, clarity and all are triple excellence but showing different bling under the sunlight. what gives?

Help me please:pray:

IMO, All 3 stone looks a bit deep at over 62%. Can you post the GIA reports?

sigh... only managed to get one of the GIA cert - option 1

whats the ideal proportion on depth and table?

Well, no on the GIA report that you did get. Its too deep and the crown and pavilion angles are not complimentary. Cut is the most important
aspect of a stone. If you stick with the below cheat sheet it should help you find a decent stone.

Cheat sheet...
table - 54-58%
depth 60-62.3%
crown 34-35 degrees
pavilion 40.6 - 41 degrees
lower crown pairs better with higher pavilion and vice versa (34 w/41 pav and 35 w/40.6 pav)

You can also use the hca tool to weed stones. Look for stones to score 2 or under to be worth a further look.

We can suggest some stones for you if you want.
This is a Super Ideal branded H&A AGS000 stone with very strict cut parameters.

Oh wow, i learned a lot from the information given. Thanks a lot

One more thing before i go hunting again, whats the good visual score for a ring, does it mean the lower it gets the better the hearts and arrow?

Why does people wants a score 1-2? wont the bling bling be lesser?

A safe bet would be a stone with 34.3-34.8 crown angle X 40.7 - 40.8 pavil angle.
