Hi there-

My boyfriend and I are searching for a diamond for my future engagement ring. Our budget is around $4000 for the center stone. I''ve found several options that look great to me and are much higher quality than what we''ve found in retail stores but I wanted to get some expert opinions. Everyone on this board seems VERY knowledgeable...personally I find all the C''s a bit confusing! Here''s what I''ve found...

Do you see any major issues with any of these stones? What stone would you select out of these...or would you select something totally different? Thanks in advance for your help! :)

This thread maybe helpful for you to know what to look for when searching or what to request as far as images go (ASET image). https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/why-we-prefer-aset-to-ideal-scope-with-fancy-shapes.73949/

If you want to find the best stone fairly easy Whiteflash has their cut above line which will get you the prettiest princess w/out a lot of image requests since they already provide them for you. Brian the cutter already found the best to meet WF ACA strict criteria of a beautiful diamond. Here is one http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-44597.htm

This should also help you w/numbers http://diamonds.pricescope.com/fnc1.asp

All I can say is WOW...the ACA princess diamonds look so much more sparkley and beautiful than the other ones I''ve seen. I love the look of the princess cut but my BF and I did notice when we went shopping that the princess cuts don''t seem to have as much sparkle as the round cuts. Now it looks like I can have the best of both worlds! It will be pushing my budget (total $5Kish) but I am willing to sacrifice a little on the setting to get a superior stone.

Thanks so much for your help! :)

Welcome Amy!

The ACA Princess are incredible diamonds, so I know if you went for one, you wouldn''t be sorry!

You might not have to push your budget too much . . . they have a selection of ACA Princesses, so you can choose one that costs a little less too. And be sure to mention the PS discount (you''ll be getting the price that comes up when you find the stone on the PS search engine, not on the WF website): https://www.pricescope.com/sift.aspx

Example: This 1.035 I SI1 ACA princess is $4151 with the PS discount.

Yay...I''m SO excited! I didn''t see that one on the WhiteFlash site earlier but it fits in my budget better.

I am so glad that I will be able to have such a beautiful ring for the money. Last weekend my BF and I were looking at my sister''s ring which they purchased at the Zales Outlet last year. After seeing it I was really afraid that I wouldn''t be able to get the ring I want because they paid over $6K for that one. It has a huge inclusion in the middle that''s really noticeable and looks the whole thing looks kind of dull.

K, next step is to sell BF on the whole idea of making such a big purchase on the internet. I think he warmed to the idea the other day when I showed him (using Pricescope search) that we could get a ring of the same quality (bad) that we saw at Zales for $1500 less. The ring we looked at in the store was $4000 but the diamonds were poor quality. I priced a comparable ring for $2500 online. He seemed to be okay with it as long as there is a return policy. I''m in Dallas so I also have to option of driving to WhiteFlash in Houston if that will make him feel more comfortable. I wouldn''t mind seeing the diamond in person first either.

I appreciate your help!

Amy
