What is a fair price for the following diamond and ring?

Basic 18k White Gold Setting with no frills

AGS Certified Diamond
Cut Grade: AGS Excellent 1
Shape and Style: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 7.40 - 7.43 x 4.53 mm
Color Grade: AGS 2.0 (H)
Clarity Grade: AGS 7 (I1)
Carat Weight: 1.501 cts.
Flourescence: Negligible
Table %: 54
Depth%: 61.1
Crown Angle: 35.0
Pavillion Angle: 40.6

A Brick and Mortar wants to sell the ring and diamond to me for $10,000. Is this a fair price?

I am not knowledgable about diamonds and do not want to be taken advantage of.

thanks in advance!

seems a little expensive. there are 2 AGS 0 E I1 1.5-1.6 stones for less than 6500, but I don't know how clean it is. there's a 1.72 H SI2 AGS 0 for 9990.

why is it an AGS 1?

I definitely think it''s high. Doing a search, I''m finding GIA''s for 5300-5800. A plain, no frills setting shouldn''t run more than 200-400.

Nope.

I agree, the price does seem high to me. If your budget is in the 10K range, I would look for a stone with the best cut AGS0 and a better clarity. 1.5ct is a decent size, and because of that, it is usually easier to see inclusions.
