Here is another funny example...
I have a friend who spent a lot of time on a "breast augmentation" forum as she was considering getting implants. She told me the women on the forum were always saying "go bigger!" and they were often saving money for a "revision" because their DD's were beginning to look small!! :o They called it "Booby Greed"!!

Sounds like diamonds and boobs are in the same category!
that's the reason why we have a "Show Me The Boobs" forum... ;))

Actually, she is temendously well endowed, look at her younger photos ::)

And NOW I will stop right there.

I'm in a metro area so no one ever asks if the diamond is fake but I don't see a TON of people with large diamonds. Maybe 1.5c is the average?

I wonder: how big is too big? Btw Diamonds lol not boobs!

FYI... ..center stone only.

U.S. avg E-ring is J SI2 .71 ct

P.S. avg E-ring is H VS2 1.18 ct

No.Ca. avg is 2.61 ct

So.Ca. avg is 2.73 ct

NYC avg is 2.87 ct

midwest avg E-ring is .48 ct

Crap, now i'm rethinking the size of my center stone  Going to make a thread about it i think...

2 carats is big to me. I'm in new York. The average here is way way less than 2.87

Well Peanuts.... Still below the average with my newst and Last-est purchase! :nono: It must be all those large NY diamonds that moved to Miami driving up the curve!

It's all in the eyes of the beholder. I have a 3ct 9.3mm and I already have DSS

anything over 2 ct is big to me but NOT too big :)

Where is this info from? I sure as heck dont see everyone toting 2.73's.. Sure, in some areas I see more 1.5+ with the occasional larger one here or there.. But average? Everyone I know wears roughly a carat (lot of half carats too). I have to purposely drive out to more affluent areas to get my bling **** on, and even then I'll only see a few big'uns.

I'm sure DF pulled it from the same place he pulls most of his statistics from :cheeky:

And you're guaranteed not to get light return there, cause the sun don't shine...........

8mm is where diamonds start to look big to me in squares and rounds. In ovals and rectangles 9x7 is where is starts to look big to me.

I just don't want the OP or any lurkers to read that and think, "OH WOW, I have such a small diamond when compared to the average!" because I'm pretty sure that was BS :)) I don't even think the US average is .71 at all. I would think it's closer to .5.. I have a .7 solitaire (radiant, too, so much smaller face-up size) and I get comments like "wow, that's so big and sparkly!" occasionally. I see a lot of people with very very small solitaires, or center diamonds in more elaborate settings.

stop laughing till you guys proven me wrong!!...
