I got it from Christiane morin on FB. It’s slightly included so I got it as a proper deal, but it’s so fabulous! The colour makes up for everything. Here it is with some other spinels. Those are also very bright but I guess the contrast is clear. It’s 1.5 carat btw. Quite small

The blue stone in the ring is a really pretty zircon I bought from LT. It’s cut by Roger dery!
Here is a much better pic.

For my new neon blue I just made setting plans talking to @elle_71125! A simple ring with trillion cut side Stones! Here are some pics with the kind I mean. Any inputs would be super appreciated!

So turns out our very own LAD has stuller settings! She has one for an asscher with trillion cut sides which may just work for my blue tourmaline ! Here are the two options she has, I’m kind of leaning towards the second one. What do you guys think? Please ignore the second band it’s attached to.

This is perhaps the simplest ring I’ve been thinking about because I am so out of budget with this stone. But I’m looking for an every day ring and hoping the trillions help the blue pop :)

Meanwhile the 6 mm Portuguese cut mahenge spinel - the top One has gone to get set by William white in a sterling silver setting in satin finish. Here’s a pic of the style! So so excited

Congrats on acquiring such a beautiful gem collection! You’re going to end up with some really lovely jewellery. =)2 I done the same as you and ended up hoarding a load of stones, but now I have to prioritise which ones to set and have no idea if they will all end up in jewellery, or if I’ll run out of money before then! ;)2 Looking forward to seeing the spinel set - Portuguese rounds are my favourite cut!

Here is a lucky find, a bright spinel of most likely Burmese origin. People say it’s jedi but honestly who knows. I know it’s super bright though. Please play in HD

You know how I feel about this baby.:love::love: The color is so beautiful!
Calling dibs again (just in case you lose your mind...hey, it worked for me once).

Haha birds of a feather and all.... absolutely I encourage you to prioritise and stick to it. But I have to tell you I tried to sell this baby! And I’m so so glad no one bought because I was never ever sure if I should keep or not. In the end I just decided to keep it and set it in silver because I was so confused about it! And I’m so happy about the decision. Keep whatever you really don’t feel you can replace. That’s the only principle that works for me :)

Thank you! I found the vendor on Etsy- Williamwhite and loved the Clean lines of his work. Hoping the bezel doesn’t darken the stone. Overall very positive!

Me too! Turnaround time is about two weeks once he received my spinel. Blue tourmaline May take longer. Don’t you hate the wait ?

Gorgeous! I love number two.
And I also really love the one you have in mind for your romantic spinel.

Really love the simplicity and purity of this with the brushed gold! Goes great with the color of the stone too!

Love your spinel and tourmaline :) I tend to like simpler settings and brushed finishes so I will keep that one of William White in mind, it's beautiful!

I’ll actually be getting this in sterling silver and not gold. But I’m hoping the white colour brings out the pink even better :)

I’m wondering would bezel setting like I’ve attached - will it darken the stone? It’s really very sparkly but less saturated than say tourmalines as is the nature of aquamarines. Here are some pics of it hanging out on an empty setting. Have you guys ever bezel set an aqua?

I have another spinel now. Which is just 5.3 mm but easily the best one I have !

Also attaching pictures of some recent garnet acquisitions- spess and purple. I’m shocked at how much I love purple! It looks NOTHING like an amethyst. The orange spessies are an exception to my usual taste but I love them and intend to set them in cute bezels too!

LOVE your spess and spinel, so neon! I love purple, too, but it's hard to find the perfect purple at the right price to make me commit to buying. I think lighter purples and lavenders can read like amethyst, but the highly saturated purple sapphires are more beautiful than your typical amethyst. Yvonne has a purple star sapphire that is TDF, but I can't justify spending so much $$$ on a small stone.

I have bought big purple amethysts before and even the very well cut ones don’t have the kind of pink purple flashes that this small one does. I typically like lighter stones but this one is radiant for such a saturated stone. In spinel I am looking for a lighter colour. Here is a picture of the kind of rough I am getting.

Though I love lavender sapphires like the one you mention, it’s too expensive for me just right now.

After a month long wait here it is! I love this ring so much. I think I’m going to be setting a whole lot of rings in silver now!

Would some not qualify as Paraiba tourmalines? I've seen some highly reputable lab-report paraibas that looked very poor in comparison. How does that work? Did you test any of these for copper content?

They dont have copper according to the vendor. But in general its a very different glow than that of paraiba!
