Been lurking on Barry''s site for a long time now looking for the perfect gem for a RH ring setting and I finally found it!
It''s a 1.2 ct Malaya from Bekily that is a peach salmon-ey color in light but a pink with hints of purple in the shade. It''s very brilliant and even though this is my first BB gem I''m very impressed and already trying to figure out which one will be next

The story behind the setting...

In early 2006 I picked up this Tacori setting at overstock with the hopes that it would be "the" engagement ring. I showed my girlfriend and she likes it a lot so the original plan was to save up for the center diamond (currently has a cz in place).

After a couple years and some saving we realized a round brilliant wasn''t what we wanted so I decided to surprise the gf with a nice chunky cushion and leon setting. We still had this setting so we figured what better way to finish it than to add a Barry gem to it!

I forget who, but there is another PS''er who has a gorgeous Jeff White Malaya in a Tacori setting. Hopefully someone remembers and can post the link. I think the PS''er is "Shimmer" but I don''t remember.

That is going to be a lovely ring!!

That is going to be one beautiful ring

Nice stone and beautiful setting, a great match!

I bet it''ll looks stunning in that setting! congrats!

It''s going to be a gorgeous ring!

Wow, that''s nice! And it''ll look great once set!

P. S. I just realized I''m spending way too much time looking at gems - I suspected the center stone could be a cz, just by looking at a photo

Oooh he has such pretty Malaya rough. Lovely stone! It will be a very nice ring.

That''s a great idea to reuse an old setting for the gemstone. It''s going to look beautiful.

Lovely! What a sparkler.

Thanks for all the compliments

When I took it to the jeweler this weekend they were amazed at the cut and how much it sparkled and even questioned if it was real! I should have it (and a set of very nice trillion earrings) back by the end of next week and have photos of the finished product.

And hopefully shortly after that I''ll have paid off the next project gem from Barry and will have pics of that too

This gem stuff sure is addicting!

indeed...

I''ll post a new thread once it''s all paid for to ask for suggestions for setting it. I think I have an idea of the direction for the project but would love to hear opinions and vendor options from the helpful PS community :)

That''s a lovely stone. Looks very peachy in your photos. I think it will look great in that setting. Yes gemstones are addicting.

Just picked it up at the jewelers today. If anyone is in the bay area I highly recommend Geoffrey''s in San Mateo. Everyone there is super nice and they do really great work!
