This has to be one of the best posts ever on PS!!! soxfan your chickens are gorgeous and it looks like they live in the lap of luxury!!! Please keep posting updates on the little ones (and the big ones) if you can. This post has put the biggest smile on my face - love it! :love: :love:

I thought of you today Soxfan, I was greeted by 4 chickens this morning while I waited for my coffee at the drive through!

This is a new one for me! I've never seen a chicken in water before...I assumed they would not like it???

Ok, to get technical...is she swimming or just floating? Can she go where she wants to go or does she just let the waves take her?

I think your chickens are dogs in disguise:mrgreen2:.

Some chickens hate water. Others don't. I only let them in the pool when it is over 90 degrees and they are panting. It cools them off. Chickens are not very heat-tolerant and it can be very dangerous for them.

I have a hen who is broody (sits on eggs trying to hatch them.) They are not fertile and she has been doing this for 5 months. She's lost a lot of weight and she's miserable. So last night I got fed up and went to Tractor supply, bought 6 2 day old chicks and snuck them under her in the middle of the night. Not a PEEP. Woke up this morning and she was SOOOOOOO happy to be a mom! And the chicks just love her!

OMG they were sleeping in a "nest" in my garden yesterday with Kevin watching over them. They are REALLY good flyers. :shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:

I had heard that white leghorns could fly very well, but didn't expect a baby to fly up into my dogwood to eat bugs!

They were milling around in the chicken run yesterday morning with all the other chickens. I think they have all been fooled into thinking Kevin hatched babies too. They accept them as part of the flock.

So this is where all the action is. Kevin is awesome, just like her mom. She is just the coolest, and looks so happy, healthy and content. You are amazing @soxfan. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. This is my new favorite thread. I will keep checking for updates.
