i just received my new diamond ring from Wf last week. Went to get a manicure today and the ring looked like it had some fluorescence. Not strong compared to a couple of diamonds in my wedding band but also not none compared to the diamonds in the band without any fluorescence. I attached a photo. I’m not sure if you could tell. Is this normal and considered negligible? Also would you say it’s necessary to take the diamond somewhere to confirm it has the correct inscription? Thank you

That is very minimal

I doubt you have the wrong stone but it's always a good idea to confirm the inscription. From that picture it seems to be negligible fluorescence.

My WF ACA also has "negligible" fluor on the cert, but with a UV light it is a pale turquoise color. I doubt you have the wrong diamond or cert, the AGS lab is just not as stringent on fluor grading (in my experience searching PS)213E97FB-E8F7-4ED2-9917-A1A5C265A3F2.jpeg17A690B1-8508-444F-B086-D09406C5B818.jpeg77B15AF1-278E-464C-95A7-0A56D1449C90.jpeg

it's much more obvious in the pitch black, but then my camera won't capture it

Negligible. It barely glows.

Nz,
AGS laboratory reports on fluoro differently than GIA. First, the term 'negligible' includes both 'none' and 'faint'. The idea being that a small amount of fluoro has negligible impact.
Secondly, AGSL records the fluoro observation from face up. Fluoro can sometimes be directional.
The other thing to understand is that there are many different types of UV sources that produce different observations.

Thank you for all of the responses! (Just noticed the type negotiable=negligible)
Just needed some confirmation.

Flouro can be directional??

That's the one new thing I've learnt today!

My AGS certified diamond has negligible fluorescence too..I was given the same explanation..It could be none or very, very slight fluorescence..having no impact on the diamond.

I think it’s beautiful

I love fluorescence too! (This is medium blue according to AGS.)

My diamond GIA cert states none but it has a blue fluorescence. I was surprised when I spotted it but I think it's kind of cool.
