New Addition to the Family

I'd like to introduce Boatswain, our adorable Landseer who joined the family a little less than 24 hours ago.

The first day has been exhausting, haha, but that was to be expected! Boatswain is much more energetic, curious and vocal than Byron was as a pup, so being consistent with the crate and training is key. So far there haven't been any accidents and he's adjusting to his crate.

I always thought the second one might be easier than the first, but now I have no idea why I thought that, haha.

As for the stats

He's a male, 9.5 weeks, around 23 lbs and I haven't measured him at the withers yet. He was born on Beethoven's birthday (registered name: [Kennelname]'s Canine in C) and hope to start showing him in April (I'm really hoping he gets a tad heavier in bone before then). Water rescue training has already begun!

I had to finish some work this morning and this was the setup: Byron under the desk and Boatswain under my chair. I have a feeling this will be our daily configuration, haha.

I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! Landseers are one of my favorite breeds. We should get him together with my dog, they can do dog food commercials together. Cookie is a 10 pound black & white toy german spitz (like a larger Pomeranian). Here is a pic of her:

Byron and Boatswain are both on raw diets and turkey necks are one of the "bone-in" meats we give. Boatswain gets a half of a turkey neck with his morning and afternoon meals and a whole (small) turkey neck for a mid-day snack. I don''t give weight-bearing bones, but they both crunch the turkey necks up in no time!
