Needing some novice-expert advice diamond studs - Please!!

Hi all,

I am glad I have found this site and after reading through many of the threads the past week I have learned quite a bit more than I previously knew about diamonds.

I am in the market for diamond studs (2.8-3.0 CWT, I-H, VS2-SI1, Excellent cut).

I have focused in on the two following diamonds:

However, I have some reservations on these two as when I run the Holloway advisor they score 2.5 and 3.0 respectively.

The depth seems to be a little high and I am not sure that they are necessarily worth the price that they are asking (perhaps they are as I haven't purchased a diamond in 7 years).

I like that these are both eye clean and the color seems to be on par with what I am expecting for the price.

I have attached the idealscope images as well (looks like I should wait and find diamonds that rate 2 or higher on the HCA before bothering?)

Is there anything else I should be considering?

I welcome any and all input before I purchase these.

I bought my 2.40 GH Si stones before I found PS (well had just found this sight at the end of purchase ) if I had to do it again I would call Whiteflash and order their ACA stones gorgeous no comparison.. But let other PS chime in with their experience and expertise

Thanks for the input.

I have looked at WF before, however, they either have 3.2+ CWT or 1.4 and below. I can't find ACA in my sweet spot.

I do live in Houston and notice that they have a showroom here. I might have to go take a look at see if they have anything else to offer.

Since you are in Houston I would go over to WF and to brian Gavin and see what you could get. And don't forget to mention PS for a discount!

Well I went by and unfortunately the selection is scarce.

Ideally I would like 1.4 each, H/I, VS2/SI1, Ideal/Excellent.

They have one ACA that I love, however, they don't have a matching to go along with it.

I'm surprised that folks aren't more eager to provide input especially on pricing. I welcome any advice.

I don't know what your budget is, but I was recently looking at ACA's in this size range and they had two H VS2s that were 1.52 and 1.523 cts and would make a killer pair. I'm assuming you wanted to stay 2.8 to 3 to stay below the 1.5ct price increase, though.

Thanks for the input - I do want to stay below the 1.5 ct price jump. That pair is stunning though.
