Hello Rock Experts,
I am considering two F/VS1, ideal-cut round brilliant diamonds for a pair of earring. Both stones have GIA cert and Sarin Report.
STONE #1
--------
Shape and Cutting Style: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 8.23 – 8.30 x 5.08 mm
Weight: 2.11 carat
Clarity Grade: VS1
Color Grade: F
Depth: 61.5%(GIA cert), 61.3%(Sarin)
Table: 56%(GIA cert), 57.2%(Sarin)
Girdle: Thin to Medium, faceted
Culet: None(GIA cert), 0.4%(Sarin)
Crown Angle: 34.5, Crown Height: 14.8%
Pavil Angle: 41.4, Pavil Depth: 43.2%
Polish: Excellent, Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None, Comments: NONE
STONE #2
--------
Shape and Cutting Style: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 8.20 – 8.28 x 5.08 mm
Weight: 2.07 carat
Clarity Grade: VS1
Color Grade: F
Depth: 61.0%(GIA cert), 61.2%(Sarin)
Table: 56%(GIA cert), 55%(Sarin)
Girdle: Thin to Medium, faceted
Culet: None(GIA cert), 0.6%(Sarin)
Crown Angle: 34.8, Crown Height: 15.7%
Pavil Angle: 41.1, Pavil Depth: 42.6%
Polish: Excellent, Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None, Comments: NONE
---
My questions are the following:
1. Is it common for a stone's Sarin report to contain information on total depth and table size that are slightly different from its GIA cert? If yes, which one should I follow?
2. According to the vendor and the AGA Cut Chart on your website, these 2 stones have ideal cut. However, when I consulted the Holloway Cut Adviser, the stones only scored 3.8 and 2.2 respectively. What is your opinion on this? In general, based on the diamond specs, could you give me your opinion on these 2 diamonds?
3. When purchasing a stone, is it realistic for me to negotiate based on the average $/carat according to PriceScope's Price Stats? How close can I follow the figures on Price Stats?
I very much appreciate your helpful comments. Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards,
Virtue
